Default Please look at these hands (low stakes NL)

I just ended a losing session of quad tabling the 10NL tables (about 1200 hands).

I think a lot of these are bad plays by the opposition, but would any of you have played these more conservatively?

Also, in the 2200 hands played since I got Poker Tracker, AKo is by far my least profitable hand (had it 20 times, and lose over four big bets per hand).

Hand 1: I dont mind trying to buy the pot after he checks. Thats what being in position is all about. After he calls though it looks like hes going to stick around. If hes the type to call a flop cbet to see what you do on the turn then fire out again on the turn is fine but keep it a sensible size. You have no hand yet and you want to be able to get away from it. If he only tends to call with a hand that hes going to showdown with (even if its bottom pair) then take the free card you paid for. If your straight comes you can always "allin bluff" him on the river if you think it will work.

Hand 2: You have a big hand and someone at 10NL WILL have a K. Bet the flop a little more. I dont slowplay when there are 2 to a flush and 2 to a straight out there (even if the straight is unlikely). I think you lost the least possible once the flush completed. Well played.

Hand 3: This is alot different to hand 1. The board is paired here and a J is just the sort of card people like to play. Just call small bets until you get a straight. If you make your straight then either stack the guy with trip J or lose your stack to the guy with a full house. If you are raised so that you dont have odds to chase your straight then fold. If you hit your K or Q then bet it to test the waters but still fold to aggression. You are looking for a cheap straight here and fold it otherwise. People at these stakes like face cards. Trips is too likely to bet with a semibluff and a T will probably call a fair amount anyway.

Hand 1, check the turn. Pushing for 4x the pot vs 10NL opps w/ a drawing hand = no goot.
Hand 2, I raise for than 1$ more, pop it up to something like 3$ or 4$ total. You'll hopefully fold out the draws and get the TPDKs or two pair to come with.
Hand 3, again I think you're playing your draws too aggressively. You're pricing yourself out of your draws in pots with people who like their hands.

It makes sense that AKo would be your worst loser, you just need to tighten up when you miss instead of spraying chips after donks have shown that they like their hands.

One thing I promise you is that you will drastically reduce your use of the all-in as a (semi-)bluffing weapon as you get better/move up the stakes. Low-level players will just call with mediocre hands (that beat you); good players will quickly recognise the bluntness of your all-in bluff and take you to pieces.

You played these hands very well, if you weren't at 10NL. These are 50+ NL moves you use when you have a read of weakness in the opponent. You're better off following draws with odds multiway (and sometimes heads up) at this lower level as well as overbetting made hands. The semi bluff needs to be almost completely eliminated at 10NL and below. Think of how loose the players are. Then think about why large semi bluffs are part of your arsenal when fold equity (ability to make your opponent fold) is a mute point. When you lose fold equity against a hand that's ahead of you, all you're doing is value betting THEIR hand for them.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

    1) Check the turn. You should be delighted you're getting the chance for a free card after your c-bet didn't work. You wont have enough folding equity for this move to work at 10nl. Also try to keep your c-bets smaller then 2/3 the pot, if they work at all that is.

    2) Raise the flop to $3 and try and get it all in. Push the turn. NEVER check the river. Especially when your getting good action like this.

    3) Same as hand 1, too aggressive. Next time you think of pushing a draw, sit back and try and come up with two specific pices of info. you have on the opp that make you think that pushing will make him fold. If you cant, just check.

Pushing draws is good against $50 rock quarries, combined with the same way of playing made cinch hands in order to keep them guessing.
On $25NL and below with action in front it's better to just call, draw THEN hammer them hard.

Players on $25 rarely bother with trying to guess your hand (made hand? draw? flopped set? is my top pair good here? etc.) they just grit their teeth and call.

Pushing made hands and beating those low stakes players with kicker works better, there is a lot of value in top pairish hands, a lot more than against typical $50NL tightass. $50NL rock is usually not willing to go 100BB deep with his one pair hand, $25 typical player thinks top pair is da nutz.
