If that's what he had - you just found a new buddy!
No serious draw for trips to ever reraise you there...the perfect board with which to destack an overpair by being a calling station and never really having to reraise - though I would expect trips to bet something on the river in case you thought about checking behind.

No reason to say KQ/AQ is not what he had, with JJ and TT also as possibilities.

Given your read - looks like it was played perfectly...callable bets by top pair all the way.

Though if that's what he had he played it about as stupidly as possible...never bet or raise to check his strength?

You must have had a really solid read to not check behind on the river

AA reraises preflop and he would never raise 66 or 88 from utg. Plus I had a very loose aggressive image at the table at that time.

I wasn't thinking trip 66 or 88, or even AA - thinking trip QQ only. So 1 hand that beats you - a bunch that don't - not a bad way to get the rest in on the river.

You don't even know what he had .

I like it if you really think villain has AQ/KQ. I don't see many opponents bad enough to still be around post-flop with KQ after a preflop reraise, but it's certainly possible.

Against an opponent that can't play AQ like this, I will check behind on the river. For the record, my raising range preflop in 6-max certainly includes 88, but I'm probably in the minority there.

All-in all, I like the way it's played. Pretty standard preflop/flop/turn, river is more read-based IMO. However, consider what villain thinks you have. QQ-AA, AK? The more I think about it, the more I like a river check-behind unless you really think you are ahead. Another line I'd throw in there from time to time (not always) would be to check behind on the turn. You are either way ahead or way behind on this hand, probably way ahead. Besides the UTG raise, villain hasn't shown any signs of strength. If he has air, you may be able to get a sizable bet out of him on the river.

The river is really tough. Can he really check it with a monster? some people do that... It really looks like a slowplay to me here.

I was thinking the same, it takes a pretty big donkey to check-call down his whole stack with top pair/top kicker without ever betting post-flop to see where he is at.

I've had that villain's line run against me before as a slowplay. He check-called me all the way down (I had AA) with the bottom set on a J-high board.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Unless I had a solid read that this guy was horrible player I would have the sinking feeling as soon as I saw that Q on board that I was losing my stack to a set of queens. As for this guy's check on the river being dumb if he had a set I think I would make the same play as him if spino1i's play has been LAgg so far and he's been leading the way through the whole hand.

Congrats on your read though, without that I would have been sure of a set.
