I made a very loose pre-flop call, but this is one of those hands I play once in a while to mix it up. It took me a while to decide whether to call the river bet, but then I figured since Villain didn't bet the flop (like most Ax suited do on a flush draw), and his turn RE-raise seemed somewhat defensive, calling the river would be a reasonable move. How would you analyze this guys play? Another factor I considered was that I had the 3rd nut flush... though that probably isn't relevant

Looks like you played it very nicely.

*shrug* short-handed is all about reads. You provided none.

Nothing wrong with mixing it up. I just like to raise with the hand anyways. Well, I actually almost always raise with J9s.

If he hadnt been on the blinds I might consider folding at some point.

It think he's multitabling Martins Poker to get the sizeable bonus - so he may have few reads.

    Easy call my friend.

I actually would have put him all on the turn when he Reraised.

They think 3-high flush is good that the site.

    Yeah, this was at martins

As far as reads go, I wasn't at the table long enough to get a good idea, but general observations include that villain was quite loose (as most martins players are) and that he was not exceptionally skilled to have gotten his 600+ stack size. Villain c-bet almost exclusively when he raised pf, and also when he was last to act on the flop, regardless of pf action. Not only that, this sudden aggression was one of the first I saw from villain.

I was hesitant to raise his bets in fear of the higher flush- I also think the size of his stack scared me though it should have rang $$$ instead.

Betting the flop would have been a good idea... I normally do, but I am consciously trying to vary my plays, even though in this case I would have earned more money otherwise.

Good point, I will have more confidence in my higher-end flushes as I work off this FAT bonus.
