Why didn't he reload? Does he usually play the short stack?

    I concur.

People playing 30bb deep at microlimits are generally very hard/impossible to put on hands, but if I had to venture a guess, it would be something like KJ.

With 12bb in the pot and 30bb effective stacks, all the money goes in with an over-pair of Queens. Anything else is a leak. Don't waste brain cells on putting him on a hand, it'll be something stupid often enough anyway.

Why isn't he playing deeper? Why is he limping UTG with a shallow stack?

    i have no idea.

jesus titty ******* christ, im not his parents, why would i know why hes playing with a shortstack, i think his orignal 25 busted and then he bought in for 10...and the reason y he limped UTG was coz he had pocket 8's and wanted to see a cheap flop i guess...basicaly all i wanted with this post was to find out if i did the right thing, not get a fetchin lecture about y some guy has a shortstack...ffs

This is good information. Running short on money? Very well could be gambling it up.

What could you possibly do different? Not raise the best hand pre-flop? Not bet what figures to be the best hand with a well sized flop bet? Fold a good hand for $2.40 more because some guy who couldn't afford to buy back in full limped from UTG and called you twice?

For what it's worth, I can only name one winning player off the top of my head who would regularly buy in for less than the max in an online game. ...and that was in the old Party $25NL .25/.50 gamble fest.

Nothing at all wrong with the play...you aren't getting away from an overpair vs. a set against a shortstack that wants to play it passively.
    Lucky him.

When Fnord said "Well." he meant you had played it well. You did fine - with his short stack there was really nothing else to be done here. This is all pretty standard you know. Did he have a set? Tough - his stack wasn't big enough to make a laydown here considering all the other things he might have had. You played fine, cool your boots dude.

Hand looks fine.A premium overpair vs a shortstack....my cup of tee.

He probably has a set but you only know that after hes called his last $2.40 so you cant get out then anyway.

If hes not as TAG as you say (which i suspect since even if he is usually, he could well be on tilt now), it could very well be AJ, KJ, QJ etc.
