Villian has been pretty tight and passive folding most hands preflop. How do you play this?

assume he is uncreative and has a 9.

    fold.
Been playing money poker for 34 years and decided in 2002 to try that TX Holdem game on TV. Then found Pokerstars in Summer 2005. Still not an overall winner but i am on a good trend and nearly there.

    Instacall. Villain shows TT-KK.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

it doesn't take a creative player to flat call with a 9 here.
You're good 90% of the time.

I think you are good more than 90% of the time here...easy call.

You guys are sharp. I was curious if I made the right call inspite the fact I won the hand.

    Losung: calls $1.60
    *** TURN *** [9c 7d 9s] [5c]
    *** RIVER *** [9c 7d 9s 5c] [9d]

    *** SHOW DOWN ***
Losung: shows [Ac Ah] (a full house, Nines full of Aces)
    scaryjerry1: mucks hand [Jc Jh]

The board is not scary for you, so you bet half potish on the flop - he figured you for AK and pushed to put you to the test - woops, you had AA too bad for him...in your case, if you knew he had a weaker overpair, betting half the pot or less ia a great way to induce this type of action as your bet looks like a missed cont bluff.
NH and good call any time.

    I call.

I also make a better raise preflop.
