I would reraise preflop, first of all. AQs is bound to be the best hand preflop against a button raise which could easily be 7 high. Just calling puts you in a bit of a pickle on this flop. A lot of different hands hit this flop hard, so I would muck to his flop bet.

I assume then that there was a reason you didn't reraise, aside from just playing it safe. I'm curious to hear why you didn't reraise this time. Even a tight player's button raising hand range includes a lot of weaker hands. It's hard to tell if this flop hit him or if he is just playing position and taking a stab at the pot since you both showed a lot of weakness.

Do you guys commonly reraise AQ preflop to a button raise? I never have since even if I hit an Ace or Queen OOP I'm still not sure if I'm ahead. I take it you lead out regardless and see what happens?

I would very often reraise with AQ from the blinds when faced with a button raise. A lot of times you pick the pot up uncontested, which is your best result. And even if you get called you don't have to hit the flop to win since you are now the aggressor. A healthy bet will take the pot down often on the flop.

i think the same goes for postflop. sometimes you can lead, sometimes you can check/fold, etc.

varying the frequency for which you do each is good.

easy preflop reraise to tell the guy to get stuffed raising my blinds without a hand he doesnt want to play with.
I think its more ev as the amount of people who wont call the reraise makes it easy money.
Opps range cant be too wide considering he is facing a reraise, unless of course he wants to go fishing or can outplay you post flop.
