I called the weak flop bet with a gutshot.
The turn bet was super weak, so I figured I could take it down.

I'm not sure if having the ace of diamonds makes it likelier that he'll fold, as he's probably calling with any flush if he has one. I doubt he requires the nuts to call.

On the second hand I might just bet out on the turn. He's going to check behind on the turn with a lot of hands which he'll call with on the river, in part because your line looks weak. Usually I prefer to bet out, and if I don't take it down, make a substantial river bluff. I also like to play real flushes like this for consistency.

I think it just makes it less likely he has a hand which he can call with, but your point is good.

This is a good point, and something Iwill consider in the future.

I played the whole hand as I would have if I had a weak 8. (or a straight, or A6, or a draw... I am not too easy to put on a hand.)

You run strange lines, but you seem to have a good grasp of fold equity, so all the power to ya. It seems like one of two things. Either you're incredible at reading hands and opponents, or you're being careless and got folds anyway. Seeing as you're smart, I assume the former.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
