Don't raise to 1k w/ AKs if you're not planning on calling the rest off getting nearly 3:1.

If SB is laggy, you played it right (if you call). If SB is tight, re-raise all-in in blind war. Heck, you can re-raise a/i with ANY ace here if SB is a typical player.

If SB is a rock who usually folds his SB to BB... you can fold or flat call I guess.

Or Shove preflop.

I prefer shoving.

If you fold here, you're gonna be run over on this table, and will likely go out 6th or 5th anyway. Only Two hands I am absolutely sick to see; AA and KK.
Before you play a hand you have to decide what you plan to do in certain situations and if you're not good with those decisions pushing AKs pf is not a bad option.
