    Default Checking the river, thoughts?

What do you think of my check on the river (and my turn bet) Villian was an average player, not too loose or tight, a little passive.

    give me detail

meh, I think I would bet again on the river. It think you are up against either a weak ace or some crappy s00ted connector that just missed it's hit on the river. I think you are ahead often enough to warrant another bet on the river.

I thought there would be few hands that call the river that I have beat. This includes : AT, A8 and below. Figuring him for an average player, I think he only calls with AT. (he wouldnt like A8 and below)

The downside of this is that I look very weak and am suseptible to worse hands betting into me.

Now whats the best option? If its checking, what size bet do I call or fold to?

well, here's my take (others may disagree).

You have 885 left and there is 900 in the pot. Any sensible type of bet is going to pretty much commit you to the pot. The way this pot has been played out, I think you are ahead far more often than behind (barring him holding A9 and he's just two-paired you at the river).

Check-raising this river after you've lead out on both previous streets seems totally bizarre to me.

I think I am leading for 450 here and I am prepared to get the rest in if I have to.

I agree with you that I probably have the best hand, but if I make any bet those worse hand arent going to call (there are only a few of them anyway)

If I bet 450 on the river and I'm raised all in, I think its a fair assumption that I'm beat, so why pot commit myself?

For people who do this, what size bets do you call or fold and why? I think this is when Ax plays back at my apparent weakness (but most likely check behind). What does the value of his bet say about his hand? What hands just go ahead and put me all in, and what hands put in 1/3 or 1/2 of my stack?

Would betting 300-400 on the turn and push any river be a smarter/easier way of playing this hand?

The turn bet needs to be bigger.
