UTG is 20.5/2.56 after 39 hands... I don't recall him making any plays out of the ordinary. I think his 3.5x Raise in that position represents strength, anywhere from JJ-AA and AK. I figured that I am horribly behind KK/AA, way ahead of JJ, and slightly ahead of AK. But given his normal play, he is probably not holding AK, and I don't think that JJ would RE-raise that kind of flop...? His RE-raise smells like AA/KK or even possibly TT. Anyway, how would you guys have played this?

You re-raised and a tight solid player snapped you back hard to tell you he was ahead of you.
You found out what you needed to know, good ld imo.

My only question is whether you could have bet more like 3/4 of the pot on the flop and kept the pot a little more in control. If he's the kind of player you portray, he's giving up his overs. And your line from there wouldn't have been as expensive.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

a little town called none of your goddamn business
Why not cold call the flop bet and see how the turn develops? Disclaimer: I don't play 100NL yet.

You do not want to call the flop bet as it may very well be a c-bet...with AK....leaving him the turn to hit is pair. As played, you know where you stand and can fold if he comes over the top.

Preflop is really weak though. You have QQ, why not re-raise? QQ is a good hand. Were you slowplaying? Are you worried about AA or KK from a tight player?

My preflop play here is determined by reads of course, but you can't play this so passively if you have none.

    Miffed- UTG is "TheDirk".

UTG bet before I had a chance... is this what you're referring to? Sorry, I'm confused

I don't like to RE-raise w/ QQ after UTG has made such a large raise, b/c more times than not I am against KK or AA it seems. That of course is under the assumption UTG has somewhat of a clue. I definitely wasn't slowplaying, just being cautious. In general, I tend to give raises from UTG more respect, simply because ppl who are aware strictly limit what hands they raise in this pos...
