Hate the weak turn bet, fold to the minraise barring that fold to the river bet

the guy min-raises PF, you are against AK/KK+. Hit a set (or a strong draw, oesd) or fold. I might take a stab at turn but then its a little more convincing, checking is ok too here. river easy fold.

    AA or KK for him.

you can make alot of money in no limit without making these heroic call downs

don't bet the turn, hope for a cheap checkdown to the end. you don't even beat the lowest card on the board, why make a weak bet OOP when a card falls that obviously doesn't help make your hand better. if you were in position and decided to bet the turn a little harder than you did here behind his second check, that might be a different story. but mostly better hands are still calling that bet, too.
In answer to your question... it depends...

you don't think him checking the turn to me is a pretty good sign he's got air? i don't see the merit in betting the turn harder, i bet weak because I wanted a call from air, betting hard gets a fold from air, or puts me in a spot where i have to fold to aggression from air, or puts me in a spot where i'm committing too much against the real deal. and, he can certainly have a much wider range than ak/kk+ preflop, i didn't mean to give you that type of impression. would your opinions change at all if he was loose/idiot?

i can understand being a hero isn't necessary, but doesn't this guy's line just make him seem full of shit? i guess with my above questions i'm just asking, you pretty much just check this hand down, regardless of any situations/reads?

go street by street and think what hands he might have? I am telling that this line screams AA (KK), after that silly min Cr on turn it might be JJ too. if you put him on air on turn why not a) induce a bluff on river by checking b) show him that you have a hand by making a real bet and not having to quess if he either CR's you, and/or makes a real bet on river.

You really have to re-think your game Greedo..

You beat exactly 2 hands who MIGHT play like this: 33 and AK not hearts. AQ not hearts seems unlikely as well.

hmm, i'm not really sure what to say. i feel like this was situation dependent and after he checked to me on the turn i thought there was no way he had anything, as he was too aggressive to just be checking down aces, as are most people in my opinion. I could've bet the turn harder, but i think he would've folded and not made a nice river bluff like he did, or he would've reraised and made a river bluff that was too big for me to look up. he had qts. i guess i'll reconsider doing something like this in the future, but just to clarify, its not like I make calls like this the staple of my game, i posted it because it was questionable.

Well if you have a strong read that he has nothing then go with it and bet the turn, but bet like a man. Its not so bad if he folds and you pick up the pot, problem is that if you bet so small and he calls and he sucks out on you then you are going to end up paying him off.

Gabe summed it up perfectly right there. Get out of the hand with a minimal loss and make it up later when you actually have a hand, or actually have a chance of pushing somebody off of theirs.

You actually may have won this hand and that's great, but I think there are better spots to get 40% of your buy-in on the table. Especially against a short-stack like this, they like to slow-play the crap out of monsters so they get more bang for their buck.
