At 5 max (depending on reads) I think I would reraise. If he donk-raised Aces so be it. If he 2-outered you with TT, tough luck. Obviously KT is a possibility as well but...

It sure looks like he has AA or AK to me. I'd probably make the crying call anyway though, because I suck. Re-raising would be horrible, what could he have that he'd call you with and that you beat? Maybe KJ and that's it.

How does that make him a donk? He got your whole stack.

There is no evidence here that villain is a donk. There were only 5 people at the table and we don't know what has been happening, so I can't say that his mimimum raise was bad (maybe that is all that will get called).

After that he slow played the trips. Hmm, not something I like to do, but he was against only one other player and again, we don't know what has been happening at the table.

Honestly, heads up this is a hand you are going to lose a ton of money on, period. You had a great draw and picked up a great turn card, what are you going to do.

The villain wasn't the donk in this hand. You were so excited about having three kings that you didn't think carefully about what your opponent might have had. That's a great way to lose a buy-in. Hopefully you learned your lesson and won't raise the river the next time this situation arises.

also note that trips and a set are two different hands.

A SET is a really really good hand, usually a lock. A TRIPS is a fairly strong hand that loses its stack to a SET.

A set is when you have a pocket pair and make three of a kind with it. What makes a set so good is that if the cards to come cause the board to pair in any way, then you have just made quads or a full house. This is the reason why top pair, top kicker is usually drawing almost dead to any set.

A trips is when two cards of the same rank as one of your UNPAIRED hole cards makes three of a kind. This is a good hand, but it isn't even close to a set.

Im likely to fold here sometimes to a play who I have seen play decent poker.

Sometimes its good to throw in a strange raise and vary from the norm it worked for him here. If you had hit your nut flush I think you would have stacked him though.
