hmm J9s MP I'd raise or fold preflop. Flop call is bad at best unless we're floating here but we're only ahead of AK at this point, and thats if the other guy is raising AK from the blinds here. Turn kills all MP2's 2p outs (if he had any), and the bet is pretty bad IMO. Can't really represent anything here that could beat a KK/AA type hand now. SB's turn c/r looks really weak and donkish here, he has aces up or queens full here a lot I think. Admittedly, the min 3-bet on the turn really made me laugh.

Against this type of opponent, just assume that they think illogical thoughts, which is often the case.

He either puts you on AK or a pocket pair under his jacks. He probably called flop as only $1.5 more and your check on the turn convinced him you were just c-betting on flop.

looking at the title of the thread, he didnt have a 5 did he?

anyway, apart from that, it is irrelavent what went through his head, what about yours?

fold or raise this pre-flop: fold to raise, or raise limped bets.

raise this flop after his c-bet. get some info. he will drop his A5 at this point --- lol

I disagree with what a lot of the people here are saying, lets remember this is $25nl at partypoker where the average player isnt what I would call a thinking player. He sees suited cards, tries to limp it, gets raised and like most people at these levels, he calls. Flop gives him middle pair and he sees a bet a little less than the pot. I play these tables as my regular game, and I see people call bets with middle pair all the time. On the turn he sees you check so he bets and most likely views your raise as a steal attempt. Again, he probably doesnt put you on a hand, just thinks you are trying to take the pot away, still thinks his jack is good but not great, so he calls. You check the river, he checks as well.
