Default Passive Play with Flopped Set, Turned Boat.

UTG is very solid player. I have been at the table with him for almost an hour and hadn't seen him get out of line.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (5 handed) converter

    UTG ($355.70)
    MP ($155.75)
    Hero ($290.65)
    SB ($195)
    BB ($52.25)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4, 4.
UTG raises to $8, Hero calls $8

    Flop: ($19) K, A, 4 (2 players)
UTG bets $12, Hero calls $12.

    Turn: ($43) K (2 players)
UTG bets $30, Hero calls $30.

    River: ($103) 2 (2 players)
    UTG bets $75, Hero ?

Any comments on the other streets as well?

why did you call the flop?

I don't understand why you don't raise the flop here, a weak ace would slow down after being called so you would probably not get more value out of that, a king would slow down for sure, a strong ace like AQ and definately AK would reraise you so you can get it all in here. Why risk it when he might be betting a draw.

I'd probably just call the river here, but it's very close, if he is a very solid I think the small chance he will call a raise when beat doesn't make up for the whole stack you will loose if he has AK. Also depends on what he thinks of you though, how tight he is when raising utg, but I would think him having AK here is pretty likely.

Raise flop, and as played I don't think any worse hands call, MAYBE AQ but thats unlikely. I like a river call.

raise flop, there is a good chance you can get AI against AK, as played, just call down, you are against AK/KQ(AA) almost always here.

I thought there was a very good chance I was beat the entire way. I thought he might also have AK. He was the type of player that might have been able to get away from it though if I pushed on the flop. Another large bet by him on the turn might would probably be enough to commit him though if he did indeed have AK so I waited to push there. The turn brought the worst card I could have seen and I was almost positive I was beat, but I didn't have the discipline to lay it down. The river basically confirmed it when he bet that strong even though a possible flush came. The only full house I beat is if he had 2,2. Again I make the crying call because I just couldn't lay it down. He showed down quad kings.

    Exactly. I shouldn't have been.
