    Default too scared? ...again

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG ($28.45)
    UTG+1 ($23.05)
    MP1 ($20.24)
    MP2 ($16.85)
    MP3 ($34.05)
    CO ($26.15)
    Button ($30.80)
    SB ($33.77)
    Hero ($26.45)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, A. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
UTG raises to $0.5, 6 folds, SB (poster) calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.25.

    Flop: ($1.50) 9, 7, 3 (3 players)
SB bets $2, Hero folds, UTG folds.

    Final Pot: $3.50

    Results in white below:
    No showdown. SB wins $3.50.

The question is this: can I reraise preflop here? The guy minraised UTG, I have to be worried about big pairs. I can't c-bet into him with much certainty. I don't have a read at this point, so I figured I'd play it cautious until I had some information. My first thought was just to let AJ go, but who knows what a guy at 25nl has here?

This could be a situation where calling is the worst of the three options, or I could be completely out of my mind.

I probably give it up pre-flop. I agree that raise/fold is better than calling.

I dont hate the call preflop as you are in the BB, but blind play isnt exactly my strongest point. Anyways though, I guess I dont see what you mean as "am I too scared?" You didnt hit the flop at all, and you only have 2 overcards and on top of all that, the SB [first player to act] bet more than the pot here. You should always fold this unless you are in position and somehow have a read that the small blind bets like this on total bluffs.

EDIT: Just read the text at the bottom of your post and saw your question was about the action preflop. I dont like reraising here with AJo, you dont have position and wont at any point in the hand unless it is just you and the SB. Id probably call here and fold without an ace or J-high flop, dont want to get too involved with the hand.

The flop is ABC... not what I'm asking about.

Preflop, what can you call with here? AJ seems to be the cutoff to me, but what about scs? It's 5:1 odds and only 3 way. The main problem with AJ is that it's so dominated. Maybe I'll post about the situation in the strat forum.
    Check out my self-deprecation here!

I'm very tight from the blinds. I usually fold AQ here too - maybe this is wrong, but I hate playing that hand from this position. I'd rather get in there with SC's but only if it's sure to be like a 4 or 5-way pot.

I realize that now, made an edit in my original post about a minute ater making it. But yes, I agree with what you are saying, AJ is typically my cutoff as well. To a bigger raise Id fold it, but to a minraise I usually call, this could be a leak on my part though.

You called preflop and tried to make your hand. You flopped nothing and you face PSB. Muck that junk.

You can iso-reraise preflop if you think he is weak and his game sucks - and play poker with him HU in position.
"How could I call that bet? How could you MAKE that bet? It's poker not solitaire. " - that Gus Bronson guy
