    Default A4s steal attempt Called

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    saw flop|saw showdown

    UTG+2 ($21.55)
    MP1 ($41.15)
    MP2 ($35.75)
    MP3 ($5.60)
    CO ($5.40)
    Hero ($25)
    SB ($54.75)
    BB ($20)
    UTG ($52.26)
    UTG+1 ($5.40)

    Villain is somewhat solid.

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, 4. SB posts a blind of $0.10. UTG posts a blind of $0.25.
    3 folds, MP2 calls $0.25, MP3 calls $0.25, CO calls $0.25, Hero raises to $2, 2 folds, MP2 calls $1.75, MP3 folds, CO folds.

I decided to raise for a blind steal and perhaps isolate against one of the shortstacks.Unfortunatly the MP called me.

    Flop: ($4.85) Q, 8, 6 (3 players)
    MP2 checks

    Hero?...................

Throw in a $3-$4 c-bet. If he doesn't beat Queens it's usually yours, unless he's got a flush draw. Fold to a raise. If he calls and doesn't improve on the turn you probably get a free look at the river.

Yeah;it looks like betting out was the best approach while my backdoor flush draw is still live and with position.

I dont really like a steal attempt from the button with 3 limpers already in the pot. Why not limp behind and play for a flush? What are the benefits of isolating against a shortstack with A4s? Im genuinely curious. What does your read mean? Is he a solid tagg, lagg, what? This isnt a great flop to cbet, you have 2 spades and then all the cards are connected enough to give a few straight draws. You are heads up and you did raise preflop, but a solid player should expect a cbet here, how have you seen him respond to other cbets? Id like a check behind here and if he checks the turn Id probably bet, if the turn is a club and he bets, I think Id raise.

limp behind preflop, this move is much more profitable with a hand like 56s than a4s. as played, bet the flop, fold if raised or if bet into on a non-club or ace turn.

Yeah in hindsight it seems like I shouldn't have made that steal.Oh well.Learned lesson.
