I was watching that hand as well, I guess H@££ just has some godlike ability to read people... he made a far more incredible call than that on another table when he picked off a bluff on the river with A6 UNIMPROVED.

He probably had a read as fux was probably there a while to amass 7K chips. And 77 is pretty lucky....

Calling on A high is pretty sick, it can be done live sometimes with a read but is very tricky online imho.

he definately had a read on that guy. I'm guessing that the opponent tries to resteal continuation bets all the way.

Truthfully, I could make this call down. I've noticed a general trend among weak players, that the size of their turn lead after check/minraising the flop is often very representative of the strength of their hand. Trip jacks or a flush would probably make a much bigger bet. On the river, nothing improves to be hall, so he calls it down.

Yaya, easier said then done, I know. He's a machine.

I was thinking about this again this afternoon. He probably also had some meta-game motives going on. He plays with the same guys at the same tables every day; it doesn't hurt that they know he can call down on A high. He might see 1 buy in as an investment in this area, and hey with a read it may be good

Hmmm. Interesting Lukie. So you're saying that if fux leads out on turn for something more like 4-500 he's more likely to be strong here? I hadn't really noticed how small that lead out on the turn was...
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
