    Default Important Topic: People admitting they are wrong.

    A lot of times in life, and a lot of times on this forum someone will get in an arguement with someone else about a poker hand or whatever. A very obvious statement. Normally an arguement will end when either both parties come to a conclusion or one party says he's wrong. A lot of times arguements will last hours, days, or posts way too long just because someone won't admit that they're wrong. A lot of people would say it's obviously the person who "won't admit he's wrong" 's fault. What people don't realize is the importance of giving the other party in the arguement you are involved in "space" to say he is wrong. If you start blasting the guy saying he's a dumbass or talking about how you sleep with their mom chances are the other party will take a long time to say he's wrong (or for both of you to end the arguement) because now you've associated all this baggage with saying he's wrong. Everyone's experienced it. In the middle of an arguement you know you are wrong but you can't admit it, you find a way for it to be right even though it isn't the truth. Now if you never blast the person and be friendly about their opinions and arguements you are both going to get a lot further in poker (and in life).

    The reason I started this thread was in hope that our analysis and arguements of hands will become more effective. Hopefully this knowledge will also help everyone in life.

    I know what you mean - How about when a person apologizes, admits they are wrong and are still attacked? for example, please see the Fuck Joker post which i no longer particpate in...perfect example of what you mean...I always try to be courteous, but must be something in poker players genetic makeup...cause there sure are lots of assholes in the poker world....
