Percentages vs odds

This is just a quick question of something im confused with. Whenever im reading about pot-odds on charts or in the forums im continously see percentages used instead of odds. I cant see how percentages give any valuable information unless there converted to odds. Am I missing something here its something like your chancing of hitting a set on the flop is 8 to 1 is much more useful than 12%?

Its two different way to say the same thing, you can convert one to the other pretty easily

To me, the 12% is a lot more useful.

I think they are both just as useful. For me I have an easier time converting outs to percentages than straight to pot odds and then ill just look at what percentage of the pot I need to put in for my bet.

I'm the same, % has always been easier for me. I can never remember if 1:8 is 1 out of 8 or 1 out of 9

How do you work with percentages though if youve got a 12.5% chance how do you relate that to the size of the pot. For me it seems like ok if theres 7x (8 to 1) as much money in the pot as the call then im in. I feel like im missing something here.
And converted percentages to odds is not always easy without a calculater unless you round.

oh, I round, beleive me I round. I'm no human calculator. But I round up or down depending on what allows me to donk my chips appropriately.

Or an advantage. Being the only one to do something might be the biggest kicker of all, or a leak.

I think it'd be easier to use just fractions. This is because to get a percentage, you must first find out the fraction.

Odds and fractions are the same. And if you use the x2 and x4 rule i think precentages are easier to find, only i find odds much more accurate and useful.

They are really the same thing.
Although, looking at outs in terms of odds I find better as it directly relates to pot odds and if those pot odds are in my favor I'm making money on that call!
Its like no matter what, if I'm given a percentage, I need to convert it to odds for the comparison to make sense. But they are one in the same.

1:1 odds is 1/2 -> 50%
2:1 is 1/3 -> 33%
3:1 is 1/4 -> 25%
4:1 is 1/5 -> 20%
.
.
9:1 is 1/10 -> 10%

They are one in the same.

For limit hold'em, its all odds. We dont use percentages much.

Percentages ARE useful in the following way:

Say a player in MP has a 12% PFR. Well it is much easier to figure out exactly what the range is. (Throw it in pokerstove )

Me, I use both. I think of my pot odds and implied odds in terms of odds, because that's just counting. I think of equity in terms of percentages or fractions. The decisions usually aren't so close that I need to know anything exactly.

For most this is true - but I play limit - and I think of it in percentages.
