the only 2 basketball jerseys I own are lebron's and shaq's heat jersey. I'm obviously pulling for the heat to beat the evil pistons.

    LETS GO HEEEEEEEEATTT!!!!!!

Dude the heat have the most amazing team. I mean they have like 4 stars that are good and have been playing pro for around 13 years each. Shaq and Wade just own, then they freaking have Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, and Antwon Walker. The rest of their players are pretty good too. And they have a good coach I think its the one the Lakers used to have. They must have spent a fortune to put this team together.

This is the year it all has to come together for the Heat (and I think there's a good chance it will), because this team isn't getting better anytime soon. Lots of solid, but aging vets.

Perhaps you havent been watching my Mavs play. If it is a Miami-Dallas final its all over for miami. They got no shot at stopping the mavs. And i know what people will say "Mavs have no dominate post player to stop Shaq". True. But they seemed to do well enough against this guy named Tim Duncan. Ill be interested to see who the Heat assign to cover Dirk. Shaq cant do it because he cant get further then 5' from the basket. I dont think DWade can handle his size. I really hope this is the matchup in the finals... it will be a good one... 6 or 7 games for sure

Probably either Haslem or Posey will guard Dirk.

It all comes down to Wade and Shaq. When they are on, the Heat win. When they aren't the Heat don't win.

I agree they will mostly use haslem or posey to cover dirk. I think haslem is taller so probably him mostly.

actually not enough, because im going to talk more...

The heat are in a dominant position to win right now with dallas being up 3-2 in the west. Posey will gaurd Dirk, and he is a solid defender enough to hold dirk under 20 most nights. If the suns end up rallying and win the west, then the heat will have a harder time because of the running.

Anyway, ive been a shaq fan since he was at LSU, and i cant wait to see him take down his 4th ring and just plain PWN anyone they play.

    Go Miami!

Shaq brings success wherever he goes.

Wade's shooting percentage this series is sick, especially for a guard.

I'm pulling for veterans like Mourning and Payton to get rings.

I dont understand what you dont get. I said if its a Miami-Dallas final the Mavs will win but it will be a good series..go to 6 or 7 games for sure.

Anyways, Whoever said before that Posey will hold Dirk under 20 are you kidding me!? Dirk is playing so good right now he wont be stopped. And this series is just going to be all about the Mavs trying to run the heat to death so that means more possesions for Dirk. No way he get held under 20. I think that with Dallas' crazy depth they will be able to run and turn it into a high scoring game. I just dont think the Heat will be able to stop it.

Well first you said, "If it is a Miami-Dallas final its all over for miami. They got no shot at stopping the mavs." Then you said, "I really hope this is the matchup in the finals... it will be a good one... 6 or 7 games for sure."

Deductive reasoning thus tells me that your argument is that the series will be a good one, and will certainly go 6 or 7 games between 2 excellent teams (they both beat the best respective team in their conference to get here), but the Heat have no chance at winning that final game, despite it being pretty clear that it will be a very close, tough series.

The very obvious reason for this is that you are a Dallas fan.

amirite? (rhetorical question to which the answer is yes)

I'm looking forward to the finals. Having new teams in the mix makes it interesting. Avery Johnson is a great coach but it will be hard to contain Wade and Shaq right now...

Lukie the reason i said that was because i do believe it will be a good series filled with close games, but dallas knows how to hang on and win the close games. Look at their series with the Spurs. 6 games decided on final possesion i think. Anyways i cant wait for this series to start.

On a slightly different topic how impressive has Avery been as a coach this post season. He has probably started 10 different lineups this postseason alone. He seems to be really good about getting his team to adapt to the situation rather then just trying to force their normal game on the oppenents

I'll take that bet for game 3. I already have a bunch of wagers going down, and I like to space out my gambling. Let me know if you're interested.

Lukie ill tell you what. We can go $10 per game (being game 1 and game 3 if you want). That way we both get a home game.

Grand, let's hold off on that for a second.

First, I need to decide who to root for.

    Miami:
    - I was rooting for them to beat the evil Pistons. They heard what Rasheed said about my Cavs, told him to stfu, and followed through. There also seems to be a ton of mutual respect between LeBron and Wade/Shaq.

    - Shaq has always been one of my favorite players. He's just a baller. And Wade is just special to watch, and if we see a lot of good LeBron vs Wade showdowns to come, the NBA has a bright future. Of the two NBA jerseys I own, shaq's Miami jersey is one of them. (remind me to not bring this on the winstar trip, see below)

    - Eastern conference loyalty.

    - Lots of vets who I feel deserve to have a ring.

    Dallas:

    - I'm flying into Dallas next week for the Winstar trip.

    - My brother-in-law called me up the other day and wanted to put $50 on the series. I have Dallas, he has Miami, straight up.

    - Nowitski is a baller. Period. I have a lot of respect for him. He's also German, like me.

    - Beat what I feel was the best team in the NBA to get here (I think it was the Spurs, not the Pistons, like everybody else).

So um, who am I supposed to root for? Somebody run an EV calculation or something and get back to me.

Ten point win and the Mavs played bad. Good thing the heat played the last 3 quarters of the game pretty much horrible. I guess Shaq's freethrow shooting rubs off on the whole team. We will take the win though!!!

If Shaq wasnt 1 for 8 on the line last night ... Posey sucked, mourning sucks, wade sucked... Iam in San Antonio and yeah Iam a spurs fan... But I gotta say go MAVS. It wasnt even interesting to watch last night. I gotta go with rilla... Mavs in 3.
  26. #26
I am thinking about taking the heat +6 for game two. That 10 point win in the first game was a little misleading. was actually a much closer game. and if heat could shoot FT's it would have been a 2 point game either way.

Still rooting for the Mavs! but only to win by 5!
  27. #27
I don't even know who to root for :s Every other year it's been rooting against LA or the spurs... this year I like both teams.

Miami was in deep, deep trouble after the first 2 games, it wasn't just that they lost but the way they lost.

The abc network must be very happy about games 3 and 4, thinks look very interesting now...

At least with the Howard fiasco there wasn't a technical foul. Yes, burning the last timeout to ice Wayde and not get the ball at half court hurt but it wasn't as bad as when Webber called a to at Michigan and they didn't have any left...

I am a very sad Mavs fan today...misappropriated use of the hack-a-shaq, Dirk misses a clutch freethrow, Howard misses TWO clutch freethrows, idiotic ref call with 1.9 seconds to go with Wade throwing up a prayer (granted he's rocked the last 3 games), ridiculous TO call to close out the game.

It's not over til it's over, of course. And I expect the Mavs to win game 6...but man that last one just had me throwin up in my mouth. Of course, I'm sick as a dog and I was drunk as hell last night to boot.

Common big performances from Terry and Stackhouse and an embarrassed Howard in game 6 to give us a shot after a ridiculous loss. And no more BS from the refs plz.

I cant believe the heat won. I am still upset about game 5 and what happened down the stretch but what can you do, thats sports right. I was still not very impressed with the heats play though. Aside from one player having the series of his career they were very average at best. But i guess all you need is one extremely hot player to ride. GG DWade

Yeah, that's what happens when the refs rig the game.

    Fucking <s>party</s> refs:

"Getting within 1 foot of Wade, automatic foul : two shots"

    Bullshit...

and this is from a person who doesn't really like the Mavs at all to begin with for the raping they gave to my team in last year's playoffs.

Yea I cant think of a better C that doesnt start.

I knew the heat were going to win but I didnt think they would win 4 in a row, does anyone know how many times a team has won 4 in a row after losing the first 2 NBA final games?

They said that this is only the 3rd time in the history of the finals that a team has come back from 0-2 to win it. Not sure if either of the other 2 teams won 4 in a row to do it or not.
