Live game, good line, or idiot?
Was playing 1-2-5 NL at the local casino. Blinds are 1-2, but it's $5 to play. Max buy-in is pretty small for that structure: $300
7-handed, I'm in CO position. UTG and UTG +1 fold. HJ calls $5.
I have Kd9c and raise to $20. Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, HJ calls.
Pot: $80
Flop: Ad Qd 9d
HJ bets $60. I put him on 2pair or JT.
I raise to $160. Button and BB fold, HJ calls.
Turn: 3s
Check Check
River: 9h
HJ checks. I'm thinking a flush or boat is going to lead out here after I checked behind on the turn. The pot was $400, and I only had about $140 left, so that would definitely have gone in on the turn if I had a flush. I bet $75 on the river with my trip 9s, hoping to get a crying call from 2pair. HJ calls and shows Td6d for the flush and takes down the huge pot.
What do y'all think? Was the semi-bluff good? Raise to 160 too small? Or just a bad idea overall? Was I spewing chips with the river bet, or do you think that is a good value bet in this situation? I had not been at the table long, so didn't have any reads other than people were calling $15-25 raises with junk like J7o and A2o regularly.
