A few random questions...

Hello, new to the forum, been lurking for about a year now. I recently decided to deposit $100 at pokerstars for my first real money play. A little background via pokertracker:
-barely breaking even on $3 10 plyr sngs (100 or so tournys)
- +$32 NL .05 (6 max) (1600 hands)...usually 4 table-ing
-Also recently tried 4 or 5 $4 180 MTTs, ITM once (16th)

Questions are:
When playing a 180 plyr MTT, how unwise is it to multi table 1) other MTTs and 2)cash ring games? Do (in your opinion) playing other tables take to much attention off of the primary MTT?
Also, if I am barely breaking even on the 10plyr sngs (3 table-ing) should I continue trying or just switch to the NL ring that I am doing ok at?

You are not bankrolled for the $3 and are definitely not for the $4. If you can deposit another $100 and are having fun then it's fine, but if this is your only $100 you need to play lower buy-ins.

The $3 are pretty easy, you should probably be running better than breakeven over 100. I doubt it is all variance.

$32/0.05 = 640bb so 0.4 bb/100. Not so great.

Read all the stickies here. Try the $1-45 man or $1.5-18 man turbos until you are confident you are a winning player (or the 5NL, are you more confident with SnG or ring). Don't play the $4-180 man.

If you break even 3-tabling the $3 then reduce it to 1 or 2 tables and focus on them

Stars has $1+$.10's. Run those first until you have the roll for the $3's. They are easier and cheaper. I always try to play one at a time while playing two rings lately for a change. I make my buy-ins in ring to play S&G's. I never try to play S&G's alone I don't think I'm good enough at them yet. When you get down to the FT or ITM then sit out your ring and concentrate more on stealing blinds and loosening up. It's a little hard to focus at the start when folding hand after hand, that's why it's good to have a few ring games going to pass the time and make your next buy in.
