Default 50NL, I'm having an arguement with my twin about this hand.

So I have this hand at 50 NL, literally just joined the table, afterwards I tell my brother about his thoughts on the turn. He sharply disagreed that I made a mistake on it, I think I did make one, not a huge on but I think I did. I don't have the hand history.

I have 44 in the CO with a full stack. I limp and it's checked round, about 5 people in the pot.

The flop comes 456 2 clubs, the BB bets $4 which a bit over the pot. I put him on a range of 66 55, 87, 73, 23, 65, 64, 45, 77, 88, 99, unlikely TT everyone folds to me and I raise to $14, and the BB calls. I take 65,64,54 out of his range because I feel like those hands are push fold, I still think he could have them but it's less likely. 66 and 55 I lessen because same reason. the straight hands makes the most sense as well as 77. The turn is a J, not a club, and he checks to me... what is your move? I have 35 left the pot is about 30......

You certainly don't want to check and give him a chance to draw to a straight if he's holding 66 or 77.

You can't make a 1/2 pot bet without being committed anyway, so your only real play here is to push.

LMAO. Pushing is incorrect. You want to take away his odds, and get a chase from a wide range you're ahead of. Whether he rivers you is irrelevant. You won't have enough behind to pay his chase off anyway. You want to make your opponents play incorrect as often as possible. This includes multiple times in one hand.

It's correct to bet between $15-20 in this spot.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Now that Rondavu puts it that way, I agree. 1/2 to 2/3 pot. Was my first post of the morning, he's totally right.

OK, make him make mistakes, but on what river do you choose to fold?

3,7,8 any club? where do you draw the line to fold. what if any of those come out, and he bets strong putting you all in? Do you call or fold?

You don't fold if most of your stack is in the pot.

I bet $2o..... Afterwards I thought a check may be appropriate but I think I was giving opp too much credit, even though he did in fact have the straight.

So $20 or push seems about right?
