I'm not the raiser, I'm the defender. I was considering reraising his minraise, but decided to see a flop and try to take it away from him then.
Flop: ok
Turn: Bet
River: Bet
Don't be such a passive faggot, raise.
check-call = wimpy, wimpy, wimpy
raise = hefty, hefty, hefty.
After he calls the flop PSB I figure he's either got the A or he's going to a) fold to a bet, b) think I'm full of shit and try to buy the pot, or c) continue to chase that club draw. I don't want to build a big pot with a mediocre hand OOP so I check it to him and try to let him tell me which it is. When he bets turn I don't put him on the club draw anymore, so I smooth call and try to show down cheaply or let him bluff b at me again on the river.
My biggest mistake here, I think, is to not include weaker aces in his range. Against a blind defense he's going to have to play TPWK deeper into the hand than he would normally, he's going to call value bets with A9- all day long. But by the turn I beat 5 Ax hands, and am beat by 6 hands. Additionally, he's going to hold the hands that beat me more often, simply because unknown villains raise strong aces more often than weak aces. So I don't really know where I stand and I have showdown value, thus I tried to show down cheaply.
What are your reasons for betting/raising 4th/5th street? (except for not wanting to look like a passive faggot, that is).
