    Default $109: A7s SH

SB was limping crap every which way so that did not concern me. Button definately does not have a great hand, but probably has a range that isn't totally far behind my hand.

Is raising pre-flop okay here and is that just a flop I cannot c-bet OOP?

I would not raise preflop (your edge should be strong enough at this stage that you don't need to). On this flop, I'd open shove.

Scuba - Pls explain why "your edge should be strong enough at this stage that you don't need to" raise preflop. He's 3rd in chips, no one really shortstacked. I doubt you know he's a better player than the other 3 so you can't mean that. So what do you mean? Pls explain.

On the hand - I think the preflop raise was fine, albeit a bit large for my tastes. Try to win it right there (you're OOP the whole hand), and still have plenty of possibilities if called. On the flop - thats ugly. If you push, you're pretty much just guessing that no one has QJ. But not many other ways to play it that don't look weak.

How aggro is out button? Is he betting here if we check (without hitting)? If so, I like a c/r all-in more than an open push. It looks more legit as you hitting, and accomplishes everything else that an open push does as well. Further, you get to see a free card toward your flush if he checks behind (and presumably learn something about his hand, depending on what you know so far about his play).

Kona, we've described the button as fairly tight. It's reasonable to assume he's not limp/calling with QJ here - it's both probablistically unlikely and unlikely given that QJ is a weak hand against a raiser.
