Am I ready for 100NL?

Default Am I ready for 100NL?

My bankroll is now $3730. I have 15k hands now logged at 50NL over the past few weeks. Heres my graph & stats:

So should I move up to 100NL? What should I expect once I get there, how does it differ from 50NL?

Yes, you are ready! Very nice results.

man i'm so friggin jealous of you lately. yes, move up man. i've never played 100NL but i've heard that ppl start to get more aggro and float more. if you're still running at 12BB/100 after 15k at 100NL i'm going to kill myself...or hire you as a coach.

Move up! I just did and at Party at least, the 100NL games seem softer than 50NL. (As long as you don't mind paying the Monster rake.) Players are laggier, but I'm routinely finding full-ring tables with VPIPs of 25-30, which I rarely saw at Party 50NL.

LOL...of course, move up! Your aggro factors seem low, but if it works for you then whatever.

I also find 100nl softer than 50, but I switched to more sites than party/stars and started playing SH and a little more laggy. Otherwise I wouldn't say there's much difference besides the blinds and stacks being 2x more.

Ofcourse move. I play 100NL with a much smaller bankroll, and as far and the players? They aren't any better, I've won more at 100NL than 50NL. You shouldn't expect anything different other than playing for twice as much money.

Do it. The game's not much different.

I have lost $0.90 per hand in my quest to move to $100NL. Hope you have better luck (and more skill) than me!

umm, if ur asking this question then i would guess ur not ready... *move up when u feel that YOU can be a CHALLENGE for NL100; not for the sake of "bankroll management" indicates u can move up.
  10. #10
Just try it. It's always possible to move down again if things doesn't go well. If you are unsure you can always take shots at it during weekends when the games are softer. That's what I usually do before I move up.

If you can destroy nl 50 then you can beat nl 100, and prob nl 200. The quality of play doesnt get much better till nl 400. At nl100 there are a lot of regulars who multitable and are pretty good. Try and identify these guys and take extensive notes on them. That being said, they are few and far between, so im sure that youll be fine.

    15k hands: check
    Bankroll: check

    Move up: check.

    any other questions?

btw, if your game is solid i.e you know how to fold to aggression adn you can play aggressivly with position and float a little on predictable players there should be very little difference from 100nl to 400nl
Only at 400nl do you begin to find a group of mutli-tabling regulars who are long term winners. Seriously, moving to 100nl is no big deal other than that an all in is now 3figures

    Nice stats.

$50 6 max would also be a good step up if the bigger $$$ figures intimidate you. Oddly enough, I think a 10% PFR FR guy would have to learn to slow down a bit though.

OK here is the longest post ever. I responded to each and every one of you if you posted something to me. I appreciate all your support and was excited at the quality of posts/posters I got.

thanks martin. you are on the same level as i am. keep posting hh's and playing short (50 minute), smart (no distractions) sessions and you will get the same results. also work up to 8 tables at a time ifyou have 2 monitors.

thanks zook. i hope pokerroom and cryptos are the same as party. i dont have rakeback at party (triptanes told me it wasnt worth it at 25NL, should i work on getting it if i stay at 100NL?)

yeah the aggro factor reflects my aggro (i think) flop play, and i slow down quite a bit if i get cold called pf/flop.. as most of the time im missing cbets as is. if i just hit tptk im usually just trying to show down cheap.. and if i hit something big draw or 2pr or better im usually going nuts.

I hope so! It sure has been the case for 25NL. Actually seems to be less nits and more people calling me down/not believing my cbets or big hands. 2x+ the profit for me.

Ouch man, I hope I'm not unlucky and hit a downswing at the moment i move up. You are def a good player ive played against you before and stayed away. Not sure how much of a cushion im going to give myself.. probably a 5 buyin cushion at this point. I will def be posting a lot more HHs again as i move up. I havent been posting hands for a while as ive been on cruise control.

Im asking because I like to get a consensus before doing something like this. Last time I posted this question I didnt feel ready, but my broll was technically 20 buyins. So i stayed down there for 12k more hands. that post was:

OK, I am going to try willhill tomorrow early pm to hopefully play some euros. If that doesnt go well i might sit at 50NL for a while until the fast upcoming weekend. Ill be down with only a laptop this weekend so ill be 4 tabling most likely so that might help ease myself into it as well.

Thanks, Ill watch out for the regulars. Pokertracker/hud should help. Perhaps i should finally upgrade gametime+ into pokeracehud?? i hate to change when its working well but something to think about.. i am not to anxious to move past 100 or 200NL, as the population drops dramatically.

Thanks. Interesting idea switching to 6max. However I dont think 6max is for me at this point. I might need to go to that if someday i move beyond 200NL, as the fish may get scarce. However my play will need to adjust dramatically and I dont think I can handle the swings. You seem to be adjusting quite well.

no problems there...i play 8-10 tables on my 20"er. i just haven't bonus whored or played as often as you are currently. this week i've started a poker room $250 re-load so that'll give me a boost in $ and playing time. gl man.

ABSOLUTELY get rakeback. If you are playing anywhere without it, move to a skin that offers it and get it. It will make your returns SO much bigger. For someone to play several thousand hands of cash games a month without rakeback is just insane.

this is all wrong, that graph looks nothing like my graphs
first of all it is supposed to start high on the left side
then it should slope down nicely to the bottom right
chek your stats and see if you can plug the chips from coming in to your stack

    good luck
    flomo

i guess if you are trying to win money then that graph might be ok

im starting think that NL100 is worse than NL25 and NL50...i say this cause my winrate is double at NL 100 than at NL25 , maybe I'm a better player player than when i started ,but the play;s i see are atrocious at this level

It's still too few hands to be a good measure of winrate and as you said you have probably improved during this time.
