Default Bringin' sexy back... or FPS?

UTG is 19/16/3.5 solid tag 2p2'er, and he doesn't know that I know this, if it makes any difference. He should view me as a solid tag. SB is a fish. Thoughts?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    SB ($512.20)
    Hero ($632.50)
    UTG ($591)
    Button ($1295.26)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5, 5. SB posts a blind of $3.
UTG raises to $24, SB (poster) calls $21, Hero calls $18.

    Flop: ($72) 8, 3, 3 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets $51, SB folds, Hero calls $51.

    Turn: ($174) J (3 players)
    Hero checks, UTG checks.

    River: ($174) 5 (3 players)
    Hero checks...

PS: I know this is only 3/6, but the HS forum has been kinda dead recently, so I thought I'd post it here.

I usually bet like 75 on the turn here, is this bad?

As played, I think there are merits for betting the river and for checking it. If you bet it, you look pretty weak and he might raise you with air (if you think he's capable of such a play). If you check it, you get max ev from the times when he has absolutely nothing (assuming he won't bluff raise you if you bet, enough of the time to make up the difference).

I don't think he's bluffraising you with missed overs if you bet weak. And he'll just call with TP/overpairs.

Checking seems the best play here. That turn check is for pot control.

I think c/c flop and leading turn is fine, but a lot of people seem to interpret it as weakness, so I try to not do it so much, and mix in some strong hands as well.

For the river, I didn't think he'd bluff-raise me, especially since we had no history. Checking maximizes value from 8x or better, and air. I lose value from hands like 77/66/44, etc that might call a river bet, but if I lead river for ~140, I think there's a decent chance these hands get folded.

like sometimes lead flop, sometimes c/r flop, sometimes lead turn, sometimes lead river

if you are playing against the same guys more and more you start thinking of these things

alot of the time you aren't going to be able to induce a bluff out of this line, but its still a good line, and i agree with gabe...just mix it up.

Check or weak lead for 1/3-1/4 pot looks best on river. Just mix it up like gabe said, esp. on these kinds of flops.
