    Default New here

    Hello,

I've been lurking here for long time and finally decided to sign in.
I was playing NL for year now, mostly slightly-winning/break-even while thoroughly studying the game and during that time I've really learned a lot ... theoretically. As it usually goes, discipline proved to be one of the biggest obstacles hand in hand with lack of experience.

It became clear that if one wants to improve, more active approach, sharing ideas and seeking advice is necessary. So I'm here - came to the right place I hope.

I used to have lots of fun playing SNGs and was doing OK, in MTTs never really got anything worth mentioning and Full-ring haven't played for long.
My main game now is (Party) NL25, (ipoker) NL20 6max.
Occasionally I jump into some cheap HU SNG following advice of some (can't remember which) famous PRO: "If you really want to learn poker, learn HU".

I'm aware what's happening. Hard to miss the hottest topic these days. But I’ll have to disagree.

First things first, I’m from Europe. While it’s true that vast majority of players are Americans, there are still plenty of players from Europe, Canada, Australia etc. Not to mention that all Poker rooms are reporting huge increase of new European players and I’m even expecting that soon there will start a race between them with new, awesome promotional offers, reload bonuses in attempt to not loose market and survive shock.

And even for Americans it’s not over yet. I’m sure, in time, holes will be opened and couple of years from now we’ll all be laughing at their stupid idea. It was not long ago, as I remember, when online casinos where banned in America. Did that stop you?

The only thing that I’m really afraid of is that side effect of (temporarily) dying of American-online-poker will be dying of forums like this.

Don't worry, all us non-Americans will still be playing and posting (I for one will definitely still be here).

I'm from the U.S. and I have no intentions of leaving FTR. Even if I'm not playing much poker, I still like discussing it. Besides, if I left FTR I'd have to find a whole new place on the internet to waste as much time as I waste here. That'd be quite a daunting task.

I guess you're right. Probably the only side effect will be increased # of posts in B&M.
