How the hell did she get away on her bike? As soon as she dropped the knife I would've smacked the shit out of her. Where the were her parents anyways?

When you were 7 did your parents not let you go out for a ride on your bike? I hate how people always resort to "where were her parents!?" Maybe the parents are terrible people, but maybe the girl hid the knife in her jacket and said she was going to go rider her bike around the block.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.

    Love me for a season
i love the bit about the guy 'persuading' her to drop the knife. How difficult can it be to disarm a knife from a seven year old girl? a little timing needed if she's swinging the fucker around her head, but otherwise..

Boost, this wasn't some punk-ass teenager. This was a 7 year old. That's 2nd grade.

My parents would not have let me be roaming around unsupervised for long enough to go down to Walmart and pull some shit like this. Even if I had managed to ride away, as soon as they heard about this on the news they would have beat my ass and notified the police. Hell, even before that if my parents had looked out the window and didnt see me and drove around the block and couldnt find me then they would've reported my ass missing to the police before I even had the chance to get to Walmart and jack some legos.

So, yes, I blame the parents. Where does a 7 year old get the idea that she can do something like this? Then how is she unsupervised long enough to actually go do it? The thought of what my parents would do to me if they found out I did some dumb bullshit is what kept me out of a lot of trouble. Obviously this kid did not get the same supervision or discipline a child should be getting.

When I was younger, after I got home from school, there would always be a few hours until my parents would get home. My brother was supposed to watch me but he was always down the street playing basketball or whatever.

I seem to have turned out fine. No, scratch that. I turned out fucking fantastic.

yah this was pretty much the case for me too. This did happen at like 9pm as someone else mentioned. But people are jumping way too fast at the parents throats. The kid coulda said "hey Im gonna ride my bike over to susans to play" at like 7:30pm. Maybe the parents are really bad parents, but there are plenty of scenarios in which this could happen that have the parents looking just fine.
