Default OPERATION get off the lowest limits

I've decided to be intelligent and build SLOWLY so I don't go busto like I have in the past. I'll be 2 (maybe 3) tabling SNG's at Absolute, moving up in levels as I get to 150 buy-ins. SO.....that means my $75 roll is exactly fit for the fishy little .50 SNGs. I know it's practically nothing, but I want to build little by little and watch the progress. I'm at $85.38 currently, which leaves me 64 & some change to go.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS GONNA TAKE FOREVER!!!!!! Oh well, should be fun........how do u guys get those "operation trackers" in your signature?

Why on earth do you need 150 buyins? These are SNGs - 30 or so is amply prudent.

So you figure that the $1.00 + .20 SNGs are OK for the $85? I'm sure it's enough, I just wanted to give myself a lot of cushion, but I suppose the $1.20 games should still be soft enough on the roll.

30 is plenty surely. The 150 would be more likely for MTT.

Yeah, as I think about it, the $1.20 SNGs should be fine on the $85 roll. I can't imagine a ridiculous amount of various at the low limits, I pretty much play ABC & "I can dodge bullets, baby!" enough of the time that I shouldn't do too bad.

OK, then, we'll keep this Op name the same, but move from the ABSOLUTE lowest buyt-ins to the 2nd lowest and see how it goes. Cheers!!

(I guess the reason I still don't want to jump to the $2 + .40 games yet is b/c I'm envisioning playing 2 SNGs at once most of the time and therefore I'm considering 60 buy-ins (30x2) as a healthy amount. Is that too timid, or does the 2 table logic make sense?)

Most Important, make your choice based on what your comfortable with. Don't play at a higher level "just because you should". If you feel like you're risking to much you won't play optimal poker. As you play more and get more comfy you may feel better about having only 30-40 buy ins, but if you feel better with more behind you, go for it.

more tables doesnt mean u need more buy ins, you could 20 tables with 30 buy ins. More Tables just lower variance.

You only need like 20 buyins at most.

Thanks for the input.....I'm going to go with the $1.20 tables for now and see how it goes, get the comfort level up a bit & then maybe start attacking the $2.40's after that......

But once I "graduate" the 2.40's, it'll be a big jump up, their next level is 6.60, I believe. Oh well, guess I'll cross the bridge when I come to it. Thanks again for the input.
