    Default Set line-check vs. nit

UTG raiser is a nit (13/4 over 1000 hands) but I don't have a read as to whether he stacks off easily. MP3 is loose and shows down too many hands (30/4 over 1200 hands). I use this line for balance (as I know a lot of FTRers do), since I'll often do this with a diamond draw. Wondering if there are specific situations that are better than others... was this a good one? Would a raise to $25 be better?

    CO: $49.75

i like it on boards like this.
I also like it on draw heavy boards where its more likely opp hit the flop.

FWIW, i sometimes call here and on the turn and autopush the river card no matter what opp does providing a diamnd doesnt hit, especially if i know opp will bet the turn if its a brick with a made hand.

true, but if he calls a raise to 20, wouldnt he call this all in aswell?

a nit may fold here... if you raise 20 he may pot commit himself for later.

I think this is a situation where a min-raise would work. This way we won't be giving away too much information about our own hand. I mean, a flush draw or TPGK type hand would concievably make this play as well. If he reraises all-in then great. If he just calls he'll probably make crying calls on the turn and river as well. If he 3-bets and fold to your push (or your call and subsequent turn bet) at least you win the amount of his reraise.

Minraise says set or diamond draw to me. If nit reads set then it's bad. If he reads fd then it's great. You'll probably be AI on flop. I think I might still rr to like 20.

the all in reraise on the flop seems a bit frisky to me. How do you expect to win any money on the hand doing that all the time? Will he really call that bet with an overpair? 20 buck pot and you pushed 100 in.

I think you would be better off in the long run to just rearaise like to 3xs or 4xs of what he bet on the flop. Get some more of his money in gradually. I don't know why we would try to scare him off with that all in push when we have such a great hand (providing another diamond doesn't come, but doubt he raises UTG with suited connectors, maybe AKs). I like to try and extract when I flop sets, because it really doesn't happen all that often (and you get action).

    wont work
nit knows how to not stack off with an overpair. Letting him outthink himself is better.
