$4 raise is slight overplay of hand but it's all fine if opponent donks with wide range and calls flop raises without top pair (like with Jack on that board).

But $5 turn bet turns your hand into air unless opponent is real calling station donk or thinks you are Gus Hansen. Check that turn behind.

Agreed. Dunno if I like the flop play, I might smooth call flop and raise turn instead if I'm feeling frisky. Or call flop and try to check down. Or fold flop. But when he calls the flop raise I'm outta there.

You probably know this, but you don't have to win _every_ pot you've raised preflop.

I'm pricing my showdown at $5, and I think a lot of kings will fold to this $5 after calling the flop... tough to read the UTG limp, though.

Plus against AJ, QJ type hands this is pure value.

Right, but before making that bet make sure that your opponent folds top pair in that spot. Without that read, turn bet is just spew.

No way he folds a king on turn if he limp-called with one UTG. (IMHO)

Not against this player. Last night in another hand HU he called my 3x PFR with T4 in BB (I had AhJc in SB), min. raised me 5x to 10x on flop, called my 10x to 20x c/r on turn and called my 24x bluff on the river, board T7472 (3-heart flop, no more hearts came which sucked)

Well if you really are trying to lose the least possible then the play would be to flat call $1 on the turn. Then your probably going to face a value bet of $3 on the turn which should let you lay this one down.

is it just me, or is the subject line the most troubling thing about the post?

I'm having problems with Queens too though. I would lay them down earlier, because it sounds like you are misplaying them in more than just this hand. The turn is too strong a bet, fold there.

Anyone have some good QQ posts to pass on?

You really need to shut down after he calls the flop raise IMO. You have nothing to protect against. Hes either ahead of you or hes drawing and if hes drawing you have 2 of the queens and theres no flush... i.e. hes not drawing.

suppose I check the turn behind, and river is a blank. Villain bets $5. Call that?
If yes (which is what I'd answer) why not get that $5 in now, when there's a chance (however slight) that a weak king might fold?

the good news is villain will likely go for the CR (as here) in that event.

Your saying that the $5 bet on the turn would be a check/call on the river anyway? I think if anything he value bets smaller then $5. Probably $3 just looking for a nice call. Which you would for that price have to oblige him with. If he fires anymore then $3 on the river I am gone.

You say he may fold a weak K. How weak? AK---K 10 is never folding the way its being played out. K-6 and K-4 never fold. K-9----K-2 probably aren't even in the hand after the pre-raise to begin with.

Save your money one the turn. Take a peek at the river.
