    Default What the...????

No reads as usual. This guy seemed sort of aggressive but I just sat in a few hands ago. I didn't c-bet because that Lachmann33 guy tends to call flops with any PP overcards or any pair etc.

Texas Hold'em $2-$2 NL (real money), hand #1,391,606,872
    Table Eureka, 20 Dec 2006 08:04 AM

    Seat 1: Lachmann33 ($104.90 in chips)
    Seat 3: buellxb12s ($80.50 in chips)
    Seat 4: Galapogos [AH,10D] ($184.20 in chips)
Seat 5: MGrandfather ($154.70 in chips)
    Seat 9: Ja_duu_ ($97 in chips)

    ANTES/BLINDS
    Ja_duu_ posts blind ($1), Lachmann33 posts blind ($2).

    PRE-FLOP
    buellxb12s calls $2, Galapogos bets $8, MGrandfather calls $8, Ja_duu_ folds, Lachmann33 calls $6, buellxb12s folds.

    FLOP [board cards 7C,9D,7S ]
Lachmann33 checks, Galapogos checks, MGrandfather bets $2, Lachmann33 folds, Galapogos calls $2.

    TURN [board cards 7C,9D,7S,AC ]
    Galapogos checks
    , MGrandfather checks.

    RIVER [board cards 7C,9D,7S,AC,3D ]
    Galapogos bets $10
    , MGrandfather bets $35, Galapogos?

What the hell is his line telling us? Does anyone ever call this just based on it's utter absurdness?

I think he has a 9, and the turn gave him a flush draw. He might have taken your turn check to mean you don't have an Ace here, and he thinks his 9 is good on the river. He might have also hit 2 pair on the river. If he has a read on you as being aggresive he might have checked the nuts behind on the turn to induce a river bet.

I dunno, I might call here sometimes.

He'd have to be a total moron to slow play trips or better on that turn.
I guess if he is worried about a c/r he could have AJ/AQ here. AK probably bets turn.

This is a good place to bluff raise, since you "obv." don't have anything... floating with 33, but doesn't like the turn A?

I agree with Phant. that a 9 is possible... but how does the 3 give him 2 pair (that he doesn't already have)

Wait, I just realized that the flop $2 is 1/12 of the pot min/bet. That means he has like monster/not much. I can't see why he would check behind the turn with a monster.

He probably has Quads and wants to show them.

rofl good point about the two pair.

The more I look at this hand the more I think it is either a bluff or a boat, not much else makes sense... Maybe 33, but that would be such a weird line I really really doubt it.. I don't think he could possibly check 97 behind on the turn and hope you bet the river after your line...

    I call here

ug, not too happy about it but I would call. you bet like 1/3 pot on the river and have no read.
I think a reasonable range will include bluffs and A with worse kicker enough of the time (based on the donkishness of his line) compared to stuff like 33, 79 etc. and at least this way you get some reads!
