Default A couple big slick hands

I'd appreciate any feedback on these AK lines

    Hand 1:

-no overwhelming reads on villain, he is running at 30/8/2.4
-is the turn spew? should I just check through/ or bet harder?
-give up on river, or fire again?

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: $57
    CO: $214.78
    Button: $116.25
    SB: $100.25
    Hero: $111.25

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with
3 folds, SB raises to $3, Hero raises to $9, SB calls.

    Flop: ($18, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $13.75, SB calls.

    Turn: ($45.5, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $28.75, SB calls.

    River: ($103, 2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks.

    Hand 2:

    -villain is 36/19/3
-I had just had a hand with him, where I had top pair K with KQ OOP.. and I was check calling (since he had raised PF), and I made a blocking bet on the river, and he raised that bet after going runner runner for the flush
-Is there a better way to play this hand? Lead the turn instead of check calling?
-after my river lead, I'm pretty committed

hand 1, turn bet is awful. Either bet more or check. I'd probably bet again here like 35.

hand 2, easy turn bet. You really need to get value/charge draws, and checking is just not going to do that. Since you checked, I would c/r ai on turn. As played, fold to river raise.

Hand 1: yah I was looking at it after, and I was thinking to myself that I should have probably bet more on every street... flop and turn.

Hand 2: You really think I should fold this river, when I'm getting almost 4.4:1 on my call?

Also, if I'm check raising the turn, that means I think I'm ahead (any hand ahead of me here is calling my push). The river 2clubs didn't improve anyone, so if I was willing to check push the turn, I must either still be ahead or still be behind.

I definitely agree with hand 1 though. Thanks for the help! I'm still unsure about hand 2 though.

Huh? Why is a ~2/3-pot turn bet awful? I also like a 3rd barrel on the river.

Hand 1: After 3-betting someone preflop, and c-betting the flop, I usually give them credit for a hand and give up trying to force them off of it.

meh, didn't realize it was 2/3. It seemed like a lot less when I read it. I still would probably bet more tho. I think there is a definite increase in FE with a bet of 35 as opposed to 28.

Do you think he ever bluffs or shoves KQ here? Because I sure don't. Either way calling isnt a huge mistake if it is one.

Yes, you are c/r'ing for value.

The river 2clubs didn't improve anyone, so if I was willing to check push the turn, I must either still be ahead or still be behind.
The reason why you bet or c/r the turn instead of c/c like you did is because the board is very draw heavy and villain could be betting worse hands that have outs against your hand, which is why you need to protect your hand and get value at the same time (although the 8 on the turn makes it more likely wa/wb situation). Also, you don't know the river will brick like it did. What are you doing if the 9h falls on the river?

hand 1: looks like he has a higher pp and you're not gonna get him off of it with all unders on the board. I take the free card on the turn here too..

    these positions always suck..

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

For the results oriented, in the first hand villain had pocket 9's. He thought for his entire time on the turn and called with 1 second left. I think Bdawg may be right, that a bigger bet could have taken it down.

Since villain took the whole time before calling on the turn, does this change our action on the river? More or less likely to fire again?

Second hand, villain had A8hearts. I suppose my thought of check calling was being results oriented. Villain may very well have bet if turn was a blank with his flush draw, and more often than not he will still be drawing. So check-push seems like it could be good in this spot. Though obviously in this hand, I would have stacked off had I pushed (though.. I stacked off anyhow lol)
