i raised alot preflop and i thought i played it well on the flop just trying to win the pot, the guy raises me and i just reraise because he could easily have a smaller over pair, i was correct in assuming i was ahead but still fell short on this hand.
anything i couldve done diff, or am i just a victim of probability?
    Roco415.

I think you played this fine. Nh. If these donkeys want to call such a huge raise with 42s then good luck to them, because they'll need it!

Do the same thing next time except hold up.

Well played, you merely got beaten by a donk . It happens to everyone. The more it happens the better you'll deal with it. Just remember that most of the time you wind up taking their stack, not vice versa (you were still the big favorite up until rivermaker hit her str8).

As played, your odds when you put your cash in were about 52% to 48% in your favor. So it was a coinflip if you knew his cards.

However, he shouldn't have been playing those cards, so there's no way to know that. But if you look at it this way: if you had been dealt pocket aces, pocket kings, pocket jacks, etc. you still would have lost and you would have to play it the same way. So this is simply a case of being beaten by cards that shouldn't theoretically be there in this situation.

Don't worry about it, it's just a little buy-in. This stuff doesn't happen often when you move up to the next level ($5.50+).

This is why poker is so profitable and this is why I play.

Personally I like to raise more with QQ+ in the micro SNG's so that we're both more pot committed. You know people will have trouble getting away from AQ+ and 99-JJ no matter what the raise.

Reasoning: see the 22 every hand v. AA every hand point about preflop raising. If aces limp, then theywill always lose long run (22 waits for set, then stacks AA). I'd do 350-400. Sounds dumb, but it's a dollar SNG and people can hardly get away from what "looks pretty." Anyway, as played, you were just bad beat nothing to say really.

no they shouldnt have been in that hand, but in the micro limits 1's and 5's and even some 10's they play any suited cards and most connectors.

it happens in the 5.50's and 6.50's for sure. sadly.
if it makes you feel any better, sharkscope the villain daily and watch his stats get worse.

I loled. Put her at my table any day. She feeds the prize pool.
