I guess my question is, did I play this river right? His reraise preflop severely narrowed his range in my mind, and I was afraid of the turn check/call.

If he has A-A, my guess is he would've gone for a c/r on the flop (since when you flop top set on a dry board your best bet for making money is usually enticing a bet on the flop or letting your opponents draw to a second best hand - a check satisfies both of these strategies).

Considering that, this looks like A-K/A-Q. Bet 1/2 pot on river, you would probably have gotten called.

reraise to 3-3.5x on flop. Its very likely he has a stong Ace and will play a big pot. If you raise to $7 even on the flop and villain calls, then you bet $15 into a $22 pot on the turn and are left w/ a small bet of $18 into a $52 pot on the river.

I dont mind calling the flop and betting ahrd when checked to on turn and river.
I might just puhs flop because if opp has AK he'd have to be really nitty to fold.

since the river puts 3 hearts out i think he would fold to that line. If the river is a non heart 4 i think he calls the AI with AK/AQ and definitly 2 pair Ace.
