    Default AQ in reraised pots?

Maybe a little introduction first. I posted here a while back, I played 6-max on Party and then stopped with poker for six months. Now I want to get serious again, get better and move up, who doesn't. So hopefully I'll be posting a lot of hands in this forum.

I've been playing again for 2 weeks now and light 3-betting preflop seems to be the new thing now. I used to fold AQ preflop because it plays difficult in reraised pots, but now I don't know. I don't think folding AQ pre is good with all the light 3-betting going on. What do you typically do preflop, fold, reraise, call? Also even if you hit the flop you're in a big pot with a possibly 2nd best hand. Here are two hands.

I don't really like my lines here because I look like a passive calling station, but how do you play them?

    1. I joined this table 2 orbits ago, villain had allready 3-bet one of my buttonraises, I folded.

SB bets $17, Hero calls $17.

    River: ($64) :3c (2 players)
SB bets $35, Hero calls $35.

    Final Pot: $134

    2. Villain in this hand is 22/18, pretty aggro and had just joined this table. We played before but I don't remember anything special.

if you have any respect for villans i may fold both. I mean I don't expect anyone to show up with bluffs in threebet pots.
Of course, I play both the same.

Why are we check/call check, check in hand 2?

I checkraise the flop, and check-fold the river if I don't. You let all kinds of hands get there free.

Raising folds out all hand we beat? I guess I'm more afraid of teh big pocket pairs then a flush draw in a reraised pot.

Edit : Only card I really don't want to see is a K.

Hand one I might bet turn when checked to, folding to a river bet if he calls turn and checking behind if he lets me.

Hand two I might bet into him on flop and fold to a raise. I don't mind your line much though. You are really only worried about AA/KK/QQ which is only part of his range.

Fold prefold, right? I didn't know villains well enough to respect or not respect them. Doesn't folding out all of our range up to AQ make us very expoitable? I mean I raise 22+, A2s +, A7o +, KT+, suited connectors, gappers,... on the button.

Oh oops hand 2 is easy call, blind battle didn't realize.
In pos on hand one i tend not to fold AQ to a small three bet.

These hands look good to me if villains are 3-betting light.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Hand 1 is played perfectly. Hand 2 you should probably c/r or lead the turn, but you aren't going to fold your hand here.
