Now with pics: Fortune's Fortress of Solitude, Part Trips
So here's the setup.
I've grinded several small starting bankrolls up to larger amounts. I'm not talking miracle works or anything here, but I've grinded 50 dollar rolls into around a grand a few times.
Something's always caused me to have to withdraw my roll... Car repairs, unexpected bills, etc.
I'm a solid player with a good understanding of the game. I've been a proven winner a few times over, but I've really never had much to show for it.
In my latest attempt, I've grinded 100 up to a little over 500, but then I cashed out half of it and bought myself two presents. A new grill, and a baller humidor and a nice selection of stogies for my cigar collection.
And it felt good... really, really good. I hardly ever buy anything for myself. It's a trend I'd like to continue.
So I was sitting in my office contemplating how to continue this trend and what I'd like to do next... and it hit me.
The answer is... My office.
I feel every person needs their own private space. My office is about the most unballer room in the history of the world. I work there 4 days a week. It has old paneling up that was conceivably stylish in 1962. Maybe. It has nasty red carpet that I'm guessing is of a nice 1970's vintage. My computer desk is kinda falling apart, and my computer chair is a hideous old chair. It's not even a computer chair... it's like a living room chair from around the same time as my carpet.
My bookshelves, however, are nice.
It's not that my house is bad, it's just that my office is that room in the house that you want to remodel, but you just don't get around to it. Other things always take precedence.
So I've decided that we're going to attempt to turn my raggedy office into Fortune 500's Fortress of Solitude. And we're going to do it in small steps, because I function better that way, and no goal seems so far away it's unattainable.
So here's the deal. My bankroll is down to 250 after my cashout. I've divided the remodel up into 5 steps.
Step 1: Paint
Step 3: New Office Chair
Step 2: New Floor
Step 4: New Desk
Step 5: Two new Flat Panel LCD Monitors
and possibly more steps to be added.
The goals are all small and modest. So my goal is to pay for them all with poker... AND to increase my remaining bankroll by 10 percent each time.
So on to step 1: Paint.
This is an easy step. I estimate the cost of paint to do my office to be around 50 dollars. That means I need to get my bankroll to 250 + 50 + (250*.1) or $325.
I'm going to do this via SNGs. I'm currently playing 6+1s on AP.
I'll post hands here as necessary.
Pics need to be forthcoming, I think.
What would be a baller color for my office?
