    Default is this a raise?

50NL on UB. MP makes a Min raise (habitual minraiser pf) I call from CO w/ 56s. Button and BB call.

Button seems pretty good, fairly aggressive, usually at the right times. others are bad. BB is short (less than 1/4 stack to start), raiser is 1/2 stack, me and Button have ~130-150BB.

flop comes 478 rainbow. shorty out of the BB bets 1/2 pot, MP calls.

Do I raise this? If so, how much and why? If not, explain please.

    thanks.

I make a small raise about half-pot. That might push button out but I'm not to unhappy about that. BB might just put it all in and then MP has a decision on his hands.

    I like a raise because I hate 4-way pots.

    What is your image?

i have been moderately aggressive, but never in a multiway pot. the only one that would notice or care about this is button.

Given the read of button, I'd probably call thinking there is a good chance this might be one of those good times. Low stakes aggressive player will probably raise this weak action a decent amount of the time. If so, I'd likely shove when it got back around, no matter what the action in between. Buttons raise won't look as strong as yours would have and the shorties may tag along.

I'm not as worried about the shorter guys drawing out on me. I'll let them peel one before trying to get there stacks in.

i raise to build a pot, and also because overcards will probably be scare cards for the weaker hands.

your seat seems kind of sucky, being to the right of the short stacks, and left of the big stack.
it could help to know if the big stack liked his hand before deciding.

i guess i'd just assume button will continue in the hand facing a raise in front with about the same range as he'd raise himself.
so i'd raise it small too for a bunch of reasons..
    -everyone but button seems passive.
-if you just call here, it might get you stuck in passive mode, because a turn or river raise will look way stronger.
-at least on the flop you can rep an aggro str8 draw or some sort of squeeze.
-if noone has more than a pair, then it's not like you will win much more by slow playing it.
-someone might be on a str8 draw or have a 2pr+, or might call with top pair, so better to get money in while their hand looks good.
-if everyone folds, they might wonder if u pushed them off a hand and pay off later on.

    Fun spot to be in.

    Both options are fine imo.

Calling is o.k. hoping that button has 2 pr or set type hand that he'll def raise with. You can then flat-call and CR turn AI or 3-bet. Both are cool. If you raise here and Btn is decent, he'll be able to get away from everything besides sets.

Raising is fine too since ppl suck and will usually call with crap.

edit : More I think, more I don't really think it matters that much. For all the times you get sucked out on by a 9 10 or J9 hand, you'll see donks connect with 2 pair (something like K8) and make more monies...
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I guess just call and hope the button gets frisky. If he folds, then the other two guys are short so they will probably get a/i on the turn if they have any kinda pair or draw.

My thinking in the hand was, I want to get all of the shortstack, and most if not all of the 1/2 stack. I don't hold out much hope of getting too much from the button as he will be facing a lot of action once it gets to him on the turn, if things go as planned.
I also didn't want the shortstack to push the flop and scare out everyone, so I just flat called. Button called.

Turn was just about the worst card possible, a 6. It at least matched the suit of one of the cards on the board, so there was a flush draw out now.
Shorty bet again (the same size as his flop bet) and 1/2 stack folded. I raised shorty AI since there isn't much reason to slowplay any further as button isn't continuing without at least a set, maybe pair+draw. button calls, shorty calls.

river is a blank, checked down.

    hows my reasoning here?
