Villian loves AK

So I have played 2 hands recently against villians with very good reads and I am not sure if I am playing it right or what so please do tell.

I get QQ UTG+1 villian has about twice as many chips as me I raise 4 times BB villian in SB position double my bet.

Flope something like 2 2 4
Villian immediatly bets pot I have a good read and figure he has AK so I push which is about twice the pot and he calls and I have been rivered or turned a King both times

I write this with little details because same thing happened live at 1/2$ and online at .10/.25$ both times it has cost me an entire buy in. I have the correct read but why do they call???? Do I seem week or something by pushing thier bets?? Input please
