Default This hand probably doesn't matter much

Opponent is active and fishy. Laggy pre-flop, passive post-flop. Seems aware of position, so figure a top 15% or so hand here.

Button is thinking and a little difficult.
    SB is a typical TAgg

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG ($58.15)
    MP ($87.95)
    Fnord ($98.50)
    Button ($209.75)
    SB ($95.10)
    BB ($83)

Preflop: Fnord is CO with J, 9.
UTG raises to $3, MP calls $3, Fnord calls $3, Button calls $3, SB calls $2.50, 1 fold.

    Flop: ($16) 2, 9, 4 (5 players)
SB checks, UTG bets $3, MP folds, Fnord raises to $20, Button folds, SB folds, UTG calls with 10 seconds left on his timer $17.

    Turn: ($56) 7 (2 players)
UTG checks.... (just over $35 behind)

I seriously considered checking this behind.

push. any spade, any J, and 9.

Given that villain is rarely ever folding here, if we push, it'd have to be for value. We need to work out whether our draw (Turn equity) is worth valuebetting.

    True or false?

    Ahhhhh

It takes a read and I'd consider you better at that than me. I probably check behind and then convince myself to call a bricked river.

It just cannot be a draw so I give him a free card all the while possibly taking one myself if Im behind TT/JJ/A9.

I'm probably a pussy, because I check behind 75%, push 25% here. If I check behind the turn and brick the river, if he lets me have free showdown I am taking it.

    Is that leaky?

Fnord- you have no idea how many fucking little buttons i had to click to make this range but its an important point to make:

so basically im saying this hand matters a lot and we want to get all in as fast as possible as our equity is dropping street by street and our implied odds r usually quite low with a flush draw....

I had us behind his range on the turn but we're in better shape than I thought. *shrug*
  13. #13
You don't want to fold the best hand on the river so push right now.
  14. #14
    We're ahead of his range

    We're behind his weighted range
  15. #15
BTW I really think FD's should be discounted greatly as I don't see them flatcalling the flop as much as his 1 pair hands would.
  16. #16
i check behind here a huge % of the time since you rarely have the best hand and have very little fold equity.

the semi-fish has a JJ-ish hand that he's not folding so I'd just shove when you hit river and get paid off
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
  17. #17
sauce, I think your poker stove range is badly flawed because he has a pair so much more often than a draw. I am not sure the range is flawed enough to make this a check behind though.

Let's call this a combo check.
