    Default balls fold on flop

get it. balls = second nuts since sometimes getting it is balls. heh heh not. or we could call it the taint cuz it's just below the nuts. then the third nuts would be like the sphincter or something.

anways, is this a balla laydown? am i destined for greatness, or flushing mobnies down the looey?

    I can't find a fold here WITH a read.

I think folding here is crazy. Soooooo many hands can be going crazy on a board like this, so many overpairs, two pairs, sets.

You're getting almost 2:1 here, so I think you gotta call. Hey, if you're behind, just go runner runner spades for the take down

UTG1 had KK, SB had 57 for the nutsack.

my decision was really close. i've been in a few flop taint and sphincter straight situations when against the nuts. really hurts.

anyways, i decided fold when i realized SB had check/pushed over a bet and two raises. most of that time i think that's the nuts. he was trapping and putting it in with impunity. the problem, i see, is that he could have wanted to check raise a set or something, but because of so much action he just pushed it. i dunno, the checkraise got me.

also, it seems to me that in flop 3-5 bet all ins, especially multiway, one of them is the nuts.

and about overpairs going crazy, well, that is a scary board, so a lot will shut down. one did get in, though, so what do i know.

will you guys pretty much always get an understraight in for 100bb on any flop?

Generally, yes. For less variance fold pre because you're almost never flopping the nuts.

I think you have to call here with 2nd nuts or you are losing value folding to a set, 2p, or "sneaky" overpair.

Ok, SB's line screams "I flopped the nuts"

and you know what? I don't care. Arrrrrrrin.

BTW, I think your 3bet size is way too small but Im not sure how big it should really be.

I guess the question is, what hand are you looking for, in order to even play that hand PF? If not the straight, then what, the flush? You're never going to have a nut flush because the Ace (or just about any other suited) will have you beat. So other than a miracle straight flush, what flop are you hoping for that makes you put money in the pot PF?

my preflop play is a newish standard im trying out. i've just come off of uber-nit robot style, found that i was bleeding chips, and rarely playing hands agasint the soft players. i'm confident that i play better postflop than the average Stars 100NL player, so i've decided to play a lot of pots with the ones that stand out, when i have position, and when i am dealt non-garbage.

oftentimes, what happens most of the time here is i flop some kinda draw IP, it's checked or bet weakly to me, i play it semi-aggressively, maybe i take it down, maybe i get called, but i have outs so it's okay. seems to be working well.

i dont see how, at a passive table, limping with non-garbage in position of deep and bad players is a bad thing.

i agree that the bet sizing should likely be bigger, and i would have done that had i had 75. however, as it appears, i was worried about 75 and didn't want to pot commit myself.

and fwiw, i play understraights very disgustingly. i know this, it's why i posted the hand. the last few times i've been dealt them i've been against a higher one so im kinda gun shy. had this been the king high flush i wouldn't have folded, i think simply because i haven't been super coolered on those.

here's one i played earlier. absolutely horrible, i think, but keep in mind that i've only recently started playing SCs. went for about a 100k stretch where i never played them.

    UTG+1 ($124.55)
    MP1 ($93)

    Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 3, 5.
    1 fold, UTG+1 calls $1, MP1 calls $1, 1 fold, Hero calls $1, 3 folds, BB checks.

    Flop: ($4.50) 7, 4, 6 (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $3, BB folds, UTG+1 raises to $6, MP1 folds, Hero calls $3.

after reading Cocco Bill's thread i decided to lay off the super aggressive style i was playing. went from approximately 13/11 to 19/9. i like it. im less aggro with marginal hands against limpers (like you said i should've possibly done), and have opened up my playing standards. i honestly dont see how playing like this is bad at non-aggro tables.

I think you're gunshy after some beats. The whole point of SCs is to hit a sneaky flush or straight, when you hit them, you should play them.

Seems you're more comfortable playing the hand when you dont hit, than when you do.
