Do I check, hope to check raise,or bet on the turn and WHY?Also,if u say check, and he checks, and the river is a non* heart, non 3 or 8. Do u check ,or bet, and WHY? If you say check and he bets pot or more, crushin my implied odds to chase boat,do i have to put him on a flush, Yes, no and WHY.

check and call a small bet, fold to a big one for the reasons you said. if the board pairs on the river play it for stacks. if the turn goes check check, b/f the river. also theres a high stakes forum for above 2/4.

I like posting here because im asking beginner questions,i hope thats ok. Also can u please explain more in depth WHY u would check as opposed to betting the turn. Thank You for your replies

ok with me , you might get better answers in high stakes though.
i check because every draw hit. he may have hit a draw, and if he didnt the draw hitting will likely scare him and kill your action anyway. your goal is to see the river cheaply and gather info on what his hand is. if you check and he makes a big bet youre behind and you should fold. if he checks behind you might be good, read dependent, but good players usually arent going to check behind after hitting their draw here because they are obligated to call a river bet if the board pairs because their hand is under represented and they want to build the pot. youre also oop which sucks because if you call a turn bet he wont pay you off if the board pairs. so, if it goes check check youre probably safe to bet a non horrible river card, ie another heart or a 4 straight card, but you have to fold to a raise because he isnt going to raise on that board without a flush.

also, you should think about playing 1/2 for a little bit and get these types of things worked out, it gets pretty brutal at high stakes if youre inexperienced.

What a great explanation,u seriously made me look at how to disect this hand and figure out why not to bet the turn on this specific board texture and also when, and why to bet on the river.Ty so much

One thing that just dawned on me though after reading this post again. I guess we r believing he has the flush because if we check turn he is very unlikely to bluff/semi bluff the turn representing a flush because he is so short now in chips with about 850 that he may think that im trying to be tricky with the flush and a check raise him....is that correct? And if that is indeed the case,what if his stack had me covered? Then he would have some potential fold equity against me wouldnt he? Would it really be correct to believe him thenc....in that case, since he would also think that if I had the flush I would bet out here as well fearing a paired river?

I have no ideas of NL1000 but in the smaller stakes it seems the players don't like to bluff when there is an all in already.
He might bet AKo with one heart but I think he would have reraised you earlier.
If this is NL50 vs. unknown I would play penfolds line.

If I was you I'd contact a mod and get this moved to the high stakes forum, nobody here is very qualified to give an answer. I'm not sure I like Penfold's response as it seems a bit first level.. although if that's what it's like at 5/10, fair enough.

But yeah, get this shifted, and try posting your opponents screennames as some of the high stakes regs may have reads.

if he floated you and pots the turn nh him, we're not ever calling here without a read
