flush river, donk bet - to call or raise

    Default flush river, donk bet - to call or raise

    villain seems loose and donkish but it's only my 1st orbit here.
    i'm thinking my river raise was bad but not totally sure.

    UTG: $420

    Hero: $398

    Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with J A
    UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, CO folds, Hero raises to $18, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls.

    Flop: A K A ($42, 2 players)
    UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $30, UTG+1 calls.

    Turn: 5 ($102, 2 players)
    UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $75, UTG+1 calls.

    River: Q ($252, 2 players)

    now that i posted it and thought more, it does seem pretty bad to raise. just more likely he calls with a flush than trips.
    does anyone think raising is good, since he bet so small and could have trips with weak kicker?

    weird hand...you know, he could be hanging around with J10d, 910d

    The limp/call check/call river bet makes it look like a flush chase and with that kind of flop he's got good implied odds, course if you have AK or AQ he is hosed and he has to know that. I just call the river, I don't see how a10 can call your push and that's really all you beat, and that river bet is begging for a re-raise. Why not push the turn? Very unlikely he has AK

    You don't even beat trip aces anymore, and it's hard to see him paying off a raise with anything less. I think you should just call, as he may somehow have a flush or boat.

    I kind of like it. It's not at all for value though--it's to get him to fold an A with no kicker and avoid a chop.

    doh. i need to relearn how to tell what hand i have...good point.
