    Default HU hand

Whats your take on this one? As played is this a call or a push to the min-raise on the river? Flop call was made on implied odds, so is the plan to get it AI? Or do we respect the raise on river?

No real reads on villian, they've limped a fair bit, shown they'll fold both PF and post flop if they dont think they have the cards, but the majority of their stack came from 2 hands, 1 where they called a push and already had the nuts, another where they called a push PF with AK and hit their straight on the river to beat a pair of queens. Took 3k chips off me the previous hand after calling my flop raise with bottom pair, but then hitting a 2nd pair on the turn.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (2 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero (t4359)
    Button (t9141)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4, 5.
    Button calls t100, Hero checks.

    Flop: (t325) 3, 7, 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets t200, Hero calls t200.

    Turn: (t725) Q (2 players)
    Hero checks, Button checks.

    River: (t725) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets t700, Button raises to t1400, Hero ???

Let's look at this. Assuming that 4s and 5s are not good outs, you have four outs on the turn, so you're about 11 to 1 against to hit. Your implied odds here are about 20 to 1 (considering your stack size) so you have to be confident to double up at least 50% of the time if you hit to have correct implied odds. I'm not sure that this will happen often enough.

I don't get it, you rivered the straight (admittedly the arse end straight), you have the third nuts HU (you're only behind 95 and T9) and you're even thinking about folding? I am insta-shoving over here. SO SO SO many hands that you beat will call here.

EDIT: The other point worth making is that you talk about implied odds, but if you're not prepared to get it AI now that you hit your gutshot then implied odds are meaningless!

No, the plan was never to fold. The question was whether to shove over or just call the reraise.

Question is probably somewhat results oriented as I did shove and they called with 9T.

And yes, this is now a few hands where I've called for implied odds on a hand that wont give me the nuts if I hit, and then I get worried about running into the nuts. Am I being too worried about monsters under the bed, or should I just rule out even chasing draws that could be dead even if they hit?
