    Default Resteals

Concept that I just picked-up from sheets, and I'm sure that it's been around a lot longer than him, is to look for spots to resteal when your stack is about 6x the original raiser's raise. In other words, if you shove over a raise and it's 6x his raise he/she will have a hard time calling without a very strong hand in fear of busting or being crippled. Thoughts?

You don't necessarily have to have stack sizes in that range. You just might not be shoving. IMO it has more to do with the player you're restealing against than it does your respective stack sizes (except in extreme cases [i.e. you're too short to have FE; they're the chip leader; etc.]).

Jeffrey, IYO how important are stack sizes when restealing? I understand what you are saying like when a habitual stealer from lp is raising a lot and you pop him. But, I was under the impression that 15bbs was when you should be looking to resteal and less normal stealing since you can't afford to be shoved upon. Is shoving 15bbs over a raise essentially the same thing as shoving 6x their raise?

It's usually closer to 5x their raise, but it accomplishes the same thing. Much below 15bb and you're only getting a fold if they have complete and utter garbage.

As I said above, I don't think stack sizes (assuming you have at least enough to make the reraise significant) matter a ton. You're right that you want to be reraising for value once you get below 15bb, as you'll get a much wider calling range. At aggressive tables, I tend to not steal as much these days at all. I'm either restealing or just playing for value. You make more than enough from the crazy-bad lags to just play for value if you adjust your value to their range.

Ex from last night (sure I lost the hand, but you can see the amount of equity I had against lag-boy):
