Default JJ in 3bet pot vs. floater

Villain is 24/16/3.3 over ~550 hands, but they're all mined, we have almost zero history. I've been at this table three or four orbits, 3bet him once in position and he folded. I hate these situations, it's so easy to get outplayed by a good opponent...

    UTG: $195.10
    CO: $394

    SB: $1680.85
    Hero: $508.80

    Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is BB with J J
2 folds, Button raises to $14, SB folds, Hero raises to $44, Button calls.

    Flop: 8 5 9 ($90, 2 players)
    Hero bets $68, Button calls.

    i think i like b/f.
mainly because i dont like any other options here.

    Very interesting spot.
you can just c/f, i dont see any reason why opp would bluff this card. If we bet there is no way opp calls any worse hand, no way in hell IMO. The interesting part is a river check seems good too. Our range is actually too good to vbet here (although it's polarized, JJ would help undo that). What are other's thoughts on this?

    No hindsight for the blind.
I think b/f is probably our worst option, turning our hand into a bluff while putting in half our stack in the process seems like a bad idea. I think I'd just check and try to get to showdown, probably c/f turn, c/c river.

Preflop 3bet size is a tad too small as well, imho. I say this without having thought through the consequences of a smaller bet, though.

hmm i guess. i was thinking that villan would have a lot of pps under JJ that arent sets and would bet if we checked.

yea but villain would be wrong to bet those because he's only going to get action from better hands. in this case it would be an accidental bluff. that sucks for us if he does that but our check is giving him the best chance at fucking something up. our check tells him nothing as people check turned A's and K's with AK here a lot these days. these are just my thoughts without reads or anything.

Interesting spot. What about a c/c and c/fold to a sizable river bet?

I'm leaning toward c/f for exactly the reason SmackYaUp mentions: with a hand that hit here, my line against a floater is c/r.

yeah but generally when people float they bet the turn if you check to them just because they want to take it down.

overall i sorta like c/c or b/c but may change based on "gut instinct" (mostly timing and bet size).

my reasoning is i think his likeliest hands are pair + gut shot (77/88 mostly), maybe JT. the flop was too drawy that hed expect most better hands to push in vs a raise, so he just floats, even though a big hand/draw tends to raise it up.
but, it doesn't make sense for the K to help him, and most draws are way behind. then again it's possible ur beat and checking puts u in a bad spot for the river if he bets. ug, tough spot.

I would bet turn again, his call seems so weird on a drawheavy board, and if u check he can still bet with his draws wich sucks. If he calls turnbet we can maybe c/c a blank on river.just my thoughts
