    Default Party $100 NL Hand

Read through to the river action. No strong read to work with.

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (7 handed)

    Button ($79.70)
    SB ($106.70)
    BB ($148.33)
    UTG ($100)
    MP1 ($211.57)
    MP2 ($193.62)
    Hero ($112.45)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8d, 8c.
3 folds, Hero calls $1, Button calls $1, SB completes, BB checks.

    Flop: ($4.50) 8h, Jc, Ts (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $2, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls $2.

    Turn: ($8.50) Td (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3, BB calls $3.

    River: ($14.50) 9s (2 players)
BB bets $11, Hero raises to $26, BB calls $148.33 (All-In), Hero ???

BB checks PF, has check-called two streets, and leads out on a paired board with a 4-straight. I have the smallest boat. I instacalled the river all in reraise. Who folds this?

hmmmm.....I think I would have flat called the river bet. Only time opp showed strength. Don't think opp bets out with a str8. Opps AI raraise on the river is such a sick overbet....

could opp have slow played 10-10 (unlikely) j-j (maybe) or even 10-j???

I actually might lay this down. Doesn't feel right.
It's not how many pots you win, it's what's in them that counts.

I think this is a pretty easy fold but then Ive been playing alot of omaha lately so I might be feeling a bit weak.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

asddfdsdfmuj why are you open limping from the co with 88?

raise pf and bet the hand harder and this would be a lot easier.

    Thanks for the responses.

Limping for sets is profitable on Party at this level. I've only played 2200 hands at $100NL and I am running at 21 ptBB/100. A combination of running hot, finding donkeys, and getting paid off on good hands.

On the turn when I had the boat I was hoping villain would still pay to draw.

My river raise was to get value from the only hand I thought villain was playing to - a straight. I couldn't see any other hand the way he played it. When he pushed, I thought "sucker" and called. I believe there are enough donkeys to push with a straight here. I was so confused when he showed JJ.

raise preflop. 3/4 pot flop, 3/4 pot turn, push river. You should be getting your stack in every chance you can here.

you do want villain to pay to draw, but you need to bet an amount that makes it incorrect for him to call.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.

I agree that the flop bet was too low. I put opponent on a straight draw only and not a better hand than me. Opp played this hand so weak that after I got my boat all I thought I could do was put small bets on the turn and river that he couldn't resist.

With this read, if I already have a boat on the turn then the maximum bet that opp is willing to call to draw to a straight is the best bet, provided that he doesn't already have a better hand than me, or can't draw to one.

I've been known to be wrong on my reads.
