Why do you think it would be a good idea to call?

my turn check will induce a lot of bluffs, especially from flush draws. he bet around 130% on the river, which i thought was really odd, which made me want to call more.

He has an A. He bets lots because he has a tiny pot and the effective nuts. Why make $5 sometimes when you can make $25 almost as often.

Its a good flop to check behind unless its likely to induce a bluff from him because there is a good chance you are behind, and if you arent there arent many cards that will make give him a winner (only Q and sometimes flush). If hes pretty bluffy I prefer to cbet and hope he folds/ find out where I stand since he wont bluff this flop like ever after a cbet but probably will after a check.

when did i become such a big calling station?
villain not only had As beat, he had quads.

obv had an A or K.

If he is a thinking opp and knows you use pot control alot then he is justified in overbetting rivers bcoz you will probably call alot due to your thinking of him bluffing rivers.

He probably should've pushed since any ace is calling.

altough he probably bet the best amount for hero to call, hero wouldnt call a shove in this exact spot if he knew heroes hand

In all seriousness being brutally honest you flat out aren't thinking correctly in spots tlike these dude.

Let me ask you this, when you were over this decision, what was the thought process you took? What did you take into account AT THE TIME of the decision, not later after analyzing it, but right then and there.

I mean, you even say it in your post, dude is nitty postflop. What do nits do when they miss value? They overbet. Guys like this bluff's are not large bets, they are very small, shitty bluffs in poor spots with little hope of success.

When a guy like this willingly sticks a lot of money in the pot the little thing between your legs should shrivel up in your ass, that is all.

Talk to you later about it.

QFT. Unfortunately, from time to time I am guilty of the "damn he checked behind and now the pot is small and I have the nuts" overbet. Not many players will pull out the big guns as a bluff in spots like this.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
