    Default $50 - KK in 3-bet pot

    Villain is 14/9/3.0

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero ($73.55)
    MP1 ($25.60)
    MP2 ($27.40)
    MP3 ($27.10)
    CO ($63.45)
    Button ($13.45)
    SB ($81.85)
    BB ($20.50)
    UTG ($70.55)

    Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K, K.
UTG raises to $2.5, Hero raises to $8.5, 7 folds, UTG calls $6.

    Flop: ($17.75) J, Q, 7 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $9.5, UTG calls $9.50.

    Turn: ($36.75) 9 (2 players)
    UTG checks, Hero checks.

    River: ($36.75) 5 (2 players)
    UTG bets $25, Hero ...

Edit: Damn it, I can't get anyone to argue with me. I was seeing if anyone would argue that this is an easy fold, as per what an IRL retardfish friend of mine said and I couldn't get across to him why I called, but instead I'll explain wtf I was thinking and you guys can critique.

The flop isn't great for me but it could be worse. After my flop bet is called and the turn blank comes, I decide that my best play is to check behind and call the river. The turn check allows me to control the size of the pot a bit when it's somewhat likely I'm against a set and also to induce a bet sometimes on the river from hands that I beat, like AQ or pocket pairs that aren't sets or AA.

    Thoughts?

I want to throw in here that the point of the post is that I think a check on turn and call on river is better than a bet on turn and getting it all-in by the river considering opponent's range here and I'm seeking verification.

I believe you are right. 14|9 is waaaay too tight.
I think he has the goods, and is valuebetting you on the river.
I just can't see him having AQ here

Diffficult. Villain's raising UTG. Preflop range tenten-AA, AK, AQ ? would you add anything else (you won't see Kten here...) Hard to tell whether he was setting up to cr the turn. $25 into a $70 pot to call on the river, so you would need to win one in three times. Any of his range could play the hand like this, your turn check behind smells like AK (especially given the size of your flop bet) so I think he's river raising all of his range. I call, with fingers crossed.
